Please do not use lots of colours just because it's possible to do so. Unless you have a reason not to use black, always use black.--Ponytailguy 20:20, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

Edit Frequency

Ahoy! As I was going through the Recent changes list, I came across your edits to User:Oreike. If you take a look at the article's history, I think you can see why it's sticking out at me :-/. I don't want to discourage you from editing, because it's good to see you putting so much effort into improving this article, but it's always good Wiki practice to use the "Show preview" button between edits so that you can more easily catch things such as spelling and formatting errors and correct them without adding extra spam to the recent changes list. Additionally, each extra addition to the recent changes list makes it more difficult for other editors to find and keep track of large and important edits, and a lot of extra entries can quickly become quite disruptive. In any event, welcome to the YPPedia, and good luck in the future! -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 21:04, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

Warnings

Please do not remove warnings from your talk page until a reasonably long period of time (I'm talking weeks here) has passed. Thanks! --Ponytailguy 22:24, 18 June 2007 (PDT)

OK......

arent u a regular player like me though?if you are who are you to say what and where and give warnings?besides i used blue to match the words getting highligted as links, to keep it flowing, then the green to leave that serenity feelings of my hard work, the marroon to emphisize how my life changed and black since it's the 'Black Pearl' adn red to show mt distaste of the 'Smugglers Pearl' and then back to the normal black in the end to tie it up in a dark feeling, get it ,got it, good

For starters, Ponytailguy is one of the Yppedia admins. But aside from that, YPPedia has several policies and guidelines that help the community work toward our common goal – to create a complete, reliable encyclopedia of Puzzle Pirates-related information. Those who edit with these policies and guidelines in mind will find a welcoming environment among the wiki community. Please read the Yppedia:Policies and guidelines as well as the Yppedia:Editors' Code of Conduct for more information how things work around here. -- Cedarwings (t/c) 08:44, 19 June 2007 (PDT)
To take it further, though, the YPPedia is a reference work. Our goal is to provide information, and using random colours (if you have to explain the significance, they're random as far as most people are concerned) distracts from and dilutes this goal.
Additionally, there is no colour called "marroon". I think you want "maroon". --Ponytailguy 09:13, 19 June 2007 (PDT)
Just to be clear, you're free to do almost whatever you want to User:Oreike as long as it's within the Terms of Service & YPPedia guidelines (basically we don't allow things like pirate & crew categories on User pages). For Oreike, you will need to adhere to the rules for pirate pages which includes not using colorful text, writing in third-person voice, and other things outlined on the Yppedia:Policies and guidelines. For both pages, please remember to use the preview button before hitting save. There is no rush, so take your time previewing and you will not run into trouble with spamming the Recent Changes page. --Guppymomma 16:37, 19 June 2007 (PDT)

Oreike

Ahoy there! Just a word in your ear: even if something drastic happens to a pirate like them quitting the game or leaving a crew, we like to leave their encyclopedia entry in place, just for posterity and so that articles that link to them don't suddenly break. Your edit has been reverted for this reason... nothing personal, we just like to look to the future. Fair winds! -- Cedarwings (t/c) 14:51, 20 June 2007 (PDT)
