User talk:Music man56/Flotillas on Sage
If the random number generator behaves itself, eventually every island will be threatened by a flotilla. Doesn't that make lists like this kind of silly? --Ponytailguy 18:35, 3 June 2007 (PDT)
- Adding the dates when flotillas were encountered and the outcome might make this list marginally more interesting in historical terms. -- Faulkston 18:44, 3 June 2007 (PDT)
I was trying to make a historical document for anyone who needed the information. I am currently scrambling to make sure all of the information correct. I was going to leave a ^ for every island taken over. If you would like to talk to me personally I am Hellohi on Sage.
- I suspect that the upkeep of the list will become way too unwieldy with 6 kings popping up in flotillas all over the place. --Guppymomma 15:19, 4 June 2007 (PDT)
- (Support deletion) We aren't entirely sure that the flotilla threatens the island it is closest to. During initial testing on Ice, Finius' flotilla was one league east of Shatterstone on the way to Eieio Island, and he eventually dropped on Kings Island instead. More research is needed before we can accurately say which island(s) are threatened by any given flotilla. That being said, there may be some utility in a list of defeated flotillas, with a more accurate description of their locations, and if possible, their final scores in sunken supply ships. - Would like to see some sort of list. More possibly the route they were on instead of the island they were closest to and outcomes (defeated/attacked X island) Agreed list may become unwieldy but the basic information, initially, in some organized form may prove useful in helping us play against/with future attacks. - How would a list that really only says "these islands have been attacked at some generic point in the vague past" help prepare for attacks? --Ponytailguy 11:36, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
- To prove or disprove the theory that they will attack the island they appear closest to if they are not defeated. There is currently a flotilla out in the no mans land near hoarfrost on Sage. If they are not defeated, where will the BK attack as there is not a player owned island very close? So route they were on and island they attacked if not defeated might prove useful. As there was 6 out on Sage knowing who was defeated is only a means to figure out which flotilla was not. Amylo 12:37, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
- Then surely this is better kept in the userspace or in a notepad file on someone's desktop? --Ponytailguy 21:22, 7 June 2007 (PDT)
- Started up a user page for myself. Thanks for the push in that direction. Swiped the model after another flotilla tracker on another ocean. Amylo 16:49, 8 June 2007 (PDT)

I have just one question..... Why would ye not try to delete Sage blockade history, it has the same idea just different info and a different template, i can adapt it into a different template like the sage blockade history page, if thats what wil help me page from not gettign deleted. -- Hellohi 14:04, June 8 (PDT)
- Blockade != Flotilla. Blockades are historically important, have far-reaching effects, and are of interest beyond that of those who participate. Flotillas have no guarantee of visible outcome, lists of them are nearly impossible (not to mention boring and arguably useless) to maintain, and, above all else, a "blockade history" is useful. A list of islands that have been in the general neighbourhood of a flotilla is not. --Ponytailguy 08:36, 10 June 2007 (PDT)
