Hidey ho. Welcome to the wiki & thanks for your contributions! You should also create an encyclopedia type article written in third person at Kargach to link to from Champions of Valhalla, rather than using your User:Kargach page. The User page is about the user and the pirate name article would be about your piratey character. The other main benefit is that the pirate name article is automatically included in the default search, whereas the User:Name page is not. --Guppymomma 07:22, 12 August 2005 (PDT)
Links guide! (we've got a few interwiki linking thingees turned on) --Guppymomma 07:25, 12 August 2005 (PDT)
Just a quick note. We don't link from regular pages to User pages. User pages are about the contributor, not the pirate they play. --Barrister 12:23, 12 August 2005 (PDT)
Sorry, I thought I'd seen that User: pages were preferred to creating new pages in the regular section, as that would be "egotistical". Removed the links to the hypothetical 'Kargach' page - if I'm that important, somebody else will write it.
- No worries. We've had an explosion of "vanity pages" (non-User: pages without real content) recently. We're hoping to draft a guideline of what makes a pirate noteworthy enough to warrant a page of his/her own. Right now, we're just using our judgment. --Barrister 23:31, 16 August 2005 (PDT)
