Blade Runner's name
Ahoy! As a winner of Admiral Island shoppe naming event, I was wondering if the choice of the name came from me list there (http://forums.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=38202) as it is said that those names would be used for future shoppes. I did put Blade Runner on me list (it's crossed over as i've noticed that it's been used elsewhere. If so, could I get credits for the name? Thanks! --Daggerdarla
- Looking into it right away... Sorry for mistake in advance.--Cecidrake 17:09, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
Blade Runner's Image
Ahoy! Thanks for uploading Image:Building-Sage-Blade Runner.png. However, I notice that you've cropped off the top of the building. Is there a chance you can get a screenshot with the whole building showing? Thanks! --Barrister 02:15, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
- Frankly it was my first upload of a building scrennie so it took me a while to get it. The thing is the building is positioned in a part of the island where I can only stand on one side of it (all other places around it are unwalkable sort to speak). That was the best I could do. I would appreciate if someone could check into it, see if they can make a better job. --Cecidrake 17:09, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
Golden ticket events
Ahoy, and thanks for the feedback!
If you were referring to dates on 'week numbers', then that's on my To Do list. If you mean dates for the upcoming events such as the Y!PP Idol or the Microfiction deathmatch, then check the event thread links. I will put them into chronological order at some point in the future (I just don't have the time or motivation right now). If you mean dates for events already put under a week number (such as week 19), then I'm reluctant to give a date. I have a few golden ticket events that hover around my mind. I plan them for certain weeks, but inevitably, some get changed or moved or postponed as it suits me. Don't be convinced an event will definitely happen until you see a forum link. I try and get events announced one week in advance. Some may be posted even earlier.
Hope that answers your question: --Piplicus 11:23, 3 July 2006 (PDT)
Building Images
Sure! The images are the easy part for me. If you start em, I'll add the images after. --Zava 14:06, 13 September 2006 (PDT)
- I think that's got it, thanks for creating those pages. :) Do you have any idea what the rubble pile east of Clothless used to be? I remember there was a dark shop, but not what it was! The crumbling should be noted on the island's history. --Zava 16:51, 16 September 2006 (PDT)
Ayuda me, por favor!
If you've the time to do so, could give some more pointers in Spanish (or even direct instructions) to User:Daffyquitan who just mistakenly moved their talk page to TuVieja. My vocabulary & Spanish skills really aren't up to that task! :) Thanks! --Guppymomma 14:34, 15 September 2006 (PDT)
Memming Page
Would it be ok with you if I used the text on your Memming page? This would help me with my own memming as I assume it has with yours. Please find me on Sage (Senxiar), Message or repost here with an answer. I will only use it with permission of the owner/creator. Thanks in advance. --Jack_JK 17:15, 26 December 2006 (PDT)
User: pages
Heh... actually, user: pages are personal pages which users can use however they want (within the content restrictions... you still can't run a kiddy porn racket off your userpage, for example.) Additionally, it's generally not a good idea to edit a user talk: page unless you have a message for that user, since it triggers the ZOGM U HAV MESSIGES!!! box even though they palpably don't have any. ;) --Ponytailguy 22:46, 29 December 2006 (PST)
- Aye, I can appreciate that you might have wanted to see the message, and I'd even agree that it looks like a decent pirate page... but my point is that he can use his userpage for whatever purpose he likes, which would conflict with your assertion that "User pages are just for info on the person behind the user". Either way, this isn't something worth haggling over. :) --Ponytailguy 23:27, 29 December 2006 (PST)
Editing of flag pages
The mission statements on both pages were written in first-person and were really just advertisements for the flag or crew, "Hey! We're fun! Come play with us!" sorts of things. They provide an opinion of what the particular flag thinks of itself, nothing more. If a flag's mission statement isn't even available on its own personal website, then that is even more reason not to include it here. To me, that makes it more clear that it is merely an advertisement and not policy. Even so, how would an average editor who is not part of that flag be able to update it when it becomes out of date?
I understand that you feel the flavour of the particular flag is important to know, but that's really what individual flag websites are for. I try to include links to those websites as often as possible so people can get a better feel for the individuality of a flag or crew or pirate. The wiki is really only meant to present facts. I hope that makes sense! :) If you still feel strongly that it should be included, I'd recommend bringing your argument to an administrator like Guppymomma or Barrister since they are in the position to make rules and judgment. Be sure to direct them to this conversation, too, so they can get both sides. I'm not perfect and sometimes judge things more harshly than necessary. :) --Lilly 09:50, 4 January 2007 (PST)
- I guess the Public Statement is included because it's taken directly from the game, so it's something any editor can just slap into a page whenever it's been updated. Personally, I'm against including them, partly for the reasons you mentioned, but that's not my decision to make. If there was history in those mission statements, then it should have been written into the history sections and not tacked on as a first-person friendly chat from the flag. I just don't see this info
- "We aim to lift Sage out of its stagnant state through positive means. That is, we are not out to target anyone in particular. Instead, we work to grow and mold raw Sage talent and labour to bring fun for everyone in the ocean through events and friendly competition."
- as history, though, or I would have extracted what I could from it and added it to the history. It reads like opinion, not fact, to me. (Did they "lift Sage out of its stagnant state"? Did they "bring fun for everyone in the ocean through events and friendly competition"?) But if you can write the mission statements in a third-person, objective way, please feel free to add them back as part of the History sections. I just couldn't come up with anything to justify keeping them. I do try, though, I promise! :) --Lilly 13:49, 4 January 2007 (PST)
- p.s. Dormant and disbanded flags are tagged as such so there's no need to keep editing their history. --Lilly 13:51, 4 January 2007 (PST)
Your Mission Statements have been returned! :) Guppymomma felt they are acceptable so I put them back. Thought you'd be happy to hear it! --Lilly 11:27, 5 January 2007 (PST)
Headless Doubloon
In this case, the best action is to move the article anyway and include some explanatory text at the top ("There used to be a related crew with this name.") However, because I'm not entirely familiar with the situation, I think it would be a good idea for someone more involved to rewrite some sections of the article, as it really is quite confusing when a crew renames itself to what it used to be. --Ponytailguy 13:28, 15 March 2007 (PDT)

The Island Award | ||
For your tireless work in keeping island and island related pages updated. Thank you! -Guppymomma 17:47, 14 July 2007 (PDT) |
- It's been awhile since someone thanked you for your work on this, and I feel like someone should. It's good to see an ocean with someone so dedicated to keeping up the history. :) Now, don't suppose you have any interest in making the other oceans all so uniformly pretty, hrm? ;) --Fannon 14:55, 16 June 2008 (PDT)
+tag
Thank you for adding the tags to the images I uploaded. I should have added them. :\
I hate to spam your page, but where is the Furniture Tag?
Dusted buildings
We don't use the infobox buildings (dusted) template. Instead, we use the dusted and dustdate parameters of the normal buildings infobox template. --Belthazar451 03:26, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I've seen that template in use too... problem is that if you don't have a date of dusting it reads Dusted: Unknown which doesn't make much sense. I'll keep using that one if the (dusted) one is not preferred.--Cecidrake 03:32, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- In such a case, you can simply put "Prior to October 2008" or whatever. On outpost islands it's pretty easy to tell when the last building dusted. =) --Belthazar451 03:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
