Overview

Booty or No Booty is a piratey version of the game show Deal or No Deal where one lucky pirate gets to be the contestant, chose a box (from the 22 seen in the Prizes image below), and either win what's in their box or accept an offer to sell their contestant's seat to a spectator for an amount of PoE based on the prizes remaining as the contestant opens the boxes they didn't chose.

How to Become the Starting Contestant

To become the starting contestant, you need to win the golden ticket lottery that happens just before each game. There are a number of different ways to win a golden ticket, including tournaments, contests, etc. Watch the forums for opportunities. There are even golden tickets given out at the event just before it begins. Golden tickets are not transferrable. Once you have a golden ticket(s), you will gather with the other ticket holders and each selects one box for each ticket. When told, open your box and whoever has a greeting card that says to shout "Booty," do so because you are the lucky starting contestant. The other boxes contain bandannas, bid tickets, a greeting card that entitles you to a 'refund' of another golden ticket for next time, and other consolation prizes.

The Start of the Game

The contestant selects one of 22 boxes that they are entitled to open at the end of the game and keep whatever is inside. In the meantime, however, they must play the game by opening the remaining boxes and thus narrowing the list of prizes that could be inside their box that they get to open and keep.

Elimination and Bids

In the first round, the contestant opens five boxes. After that, any of the spectators may make an offer to buy the conestant's seat. These bids are based on the values of the prizes remaining after those in the boxes opened are eliminated. The bids come in two waves. The first wave of bids is sent to the host, Nobooty, in /tells and are used to establish a benchmark for the amount the spectators are willing to pay for the contestant's seat at that time. Nobooty announces what the highest bid was and then the second wave of bids follows. These are the real, binding bids. In addition, Nobooty will announce a threshold where bids below can just be made in /tells, but bids above that threshold will actually have to be /pay'd to count. Unseccesful bids will be returned. The highest second wave bid is announced and the contestant decides if they want to keep playing or sell their seat by announcing "Booty" to sell it or "No Booty" to keep playing.

This continues for five more rounds, with three boxes being elminated and an opportunity to buy the seat in each round. In the end that will result in one unopened box in addition to the contestant's box.

Switcheroo

There is a twist at the end when only one box remains. The contestant choses one of two special Switcheroo boxes and opens it. It will either allow them to swap their box for the one remaining prize box, or not. If they open the box that grants a Switcheroo, it is only an option. They do not have to swap.

End Game

Afther the Switcheroo, the contestant opens their box and wins what's inside.

Surprizes

During the game, intermissions will be held where a lucky spectator gets to chose from a group of special surpise boxes and wins what's inside. The lucky spectators are chosen by winning a task such as answering a question or doing something in particular as announced by Nobooty.
