An event is a contest, run and organized by Ocean Masters and other players. Some common events are bakeoff s, swordfight, rumble, drinking, and treasure drop tournament s, and art and writing contests. In events you could win items such as ships, rare trinkets, sleeping animals, other rare furniture, or even familiar s! Some events called historical events had a bigger impact on the game. One example is "Whitefire's 24-hour pillage". This was a twenty-four hour pillage, led by the pirate Whitefire. At the time this pillage was run, it wasn't uncommon for battle payouts be in the millions range, of PoE. This pillage made people very rich, and resulted in the Ocean Masters changing the parts of the game that involved brigand payout. Other examples of historical events are, "The Poetry Death Match", and "The Olympic Champions League". Though events are not exactly the next big phenomenon, they are still good to make and enter, and can sometimes be a good way to earn PoE, but be aware that entering events can take a lot of time and effort, and you may not always win. But even though you may not always win events, it’s still fun trying. Who knows? You may just win.
