Apparently, pirates aren't the only backstabbing sea-dogs: Even amongst the ranks of the undead there are spineless skellies and heartless zombies.
An anonymous skellie came aboard zombie Ginger Thorn's ship during a routine greenie-hunting pillage. All seemed well, their catch of poor clueless pirates was bountiful and they had plenty of "soul-food" to go around. But before the booty (or bodies) were even divided, skellie Salvia Stew noticed that skellie Cassia Othus was missing her leg! And that wasn't the only thing missing...the mystery skellie that had joined their pillage was nowhere to be seen as well.
Ginger has provided one clue only, a duty report...however, the skellie jobber's name was never recorded. All Ginger can tell us is that she is very selective with her pirate-hunting jobbers. She was sorely dissappointed with this embarrassing scenario.
Come up with a possible name for the mystery skellie. Explain why the skellie could have such a name and why Ginger would have hired her.

Skellie Name: Pepper Sate
The name was based on the other three's names...
The second names of the zombie/skellies (Thorn, Stew, Othus) are anagrams of compass directions (North, West, South)... And so, I decided to take anagrams of East for the fourth pillager's second name... Noticing that the other three's second names end with the first letter of the compass direction, I chose Sate which is the only anagram of East that ends in East's first letter...
With their first names, there seems to be no clear relevance with each other... With further research only their Division, Magnoliophyta, seems to be their commonality... So, changing my search to 'ginger sage cinnamon' which they are more known of, I was able to find a glossary of herbal actions which included them under one category, Anticatarrhal... With other names of substances I tried to choose which name would have a 6-letter relevant name since Ginger, Salvia, Cassia each are six letters... So the final decision was between pepper (from cayenne) and cherry (wild cherry bark)... Since wild cherry bark is mainly on its bark rather than the cherry, and Ginger, Sage, Cassia are related to 'green' I finally decided the first name to be Pepper (green pepper)...
Hence, Pepper Sate...
The Guild Salutes - Alethia:
For a noteworthy answer that impressed the panel, your prize will be...our deepest admiration.
Alethia - The following answer was "incorrect" but extremely well-thought out!
The last names of all of the zombies are directions:
- Othus- South
- Stew- West
- Thorn- North
The first names are all herbs, all of which use different parts of their respective plant:
- Ginger- root used
- Salvia- leaves used
- Cassia- bark used
Also, the first letters of the names correspond with the first letters of the stations they are on (with the exception of Ginger, but she is the Captain after all, and sails needs more than one pirate/zombie to really make a pillage worthwhile):
- Ginger- g unning
- Salvia-s ailing
- Cassia- c arpentry
So my proposed 4th zombie name would be: Bergamot Sate
Bergamot-b ilging, fruit can be used (bergamot orange)
Sate- East, the 4th direction
