Talk:Viridian Swashbucklers

From YPPedia

All of this is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!!!

Just to pick one example, "they cower in fear". Cite a source. The whole article is littered with biased statements like that one. Please fix it up, or other editors will have to make their best effort to fix it for you. --Barrister 00:24, 23 May 2006 (PDT)

Like i said from my opening statement, this is all the truth, why do you doubt me? It is because of me why they refuse to take any new members. From that alone they "cower in fear" Sonofab

We need facts to backup claims. Your word isn't enough to substantiate a claim or prove things are true, because that could well be your opinion. --Sagacious (talk) 03:18, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
I'm going to highlight one key part from what Barrister said. "The whole article is littered with biased statements."
With that said, YPPedia is an encyclopedia, and encyclopedias need to contain unbiased, and conpletely neutral information, a large chunk fo this article is too opinionated for that. —Sivius(T/C) 04:17, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

And what facts can i provide to back-up "these claims". If i am unable to do so then what? Are you going to amend my entire word to satisfy your need for facts. The history of the crew is exactly as i said it whether it conformed to your need for unbiased comments is irrelevent. Reason being, when people read this they want to know the history and what i have given is the history. They want to know where Ming's Dynasty come from and how it got to where it is today. If you amend my work then you might aswell delete it!

Please don't be offended or upset that we might have to delete parts or amend most of this article. Although what you or someone has written might be interesting, if it's made up of opinions, facts that can't be proven or 'we' statements - it's the YPPedia policy to change it to conform to the guidelines. The guidelines are only there to keep all the articles on the wiki in the same format and have some kind of written consistency. We discuss issues we have here so we can come to some kind of resolution.
Essentially, wikipedia and indeed the YPPedia are Encyclopedias. By definition, they only contain factual information - and a fact is only a fact with sufficient evidence or widespread agreement. And naturally, even facts are sometimes eradicated because they are of no use to anyone. I always hope than an article's creator can make necessary amendments to an article so that it does match the quality of other articles we have on the wiki - but when they don't, that is when other editors step in to help fix it up. Often this involves deleting sections. If you want to avoid that - simply edit the article yourself. If you need help fixing this article, just let us know. I'm sure an editor will come along and fix it up when they have the time. --Sagacious (talk) 06:19, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

Hear this, i do one better!!!!

Sonofab/Ming26: We went through this back in October 2005 and again in February 2006 over the Viridian Sailors page. You don't get final say over the contents of this or any other page. --Barrister 12:09, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
In all seriousness, read the following paragraph, "Suddenly he was back! And with a vengeance. Sonofab wanted them to pay for what they did. He quickly reclaims back his captaincy and began to rebuild the crew. He hired the services of his old captain Fischer and receives a merge request from a small time crew with big players."

Now compare it to, "Sonofab returned as captain on <date> and made an attempt to rebuild the crew."

Yes, this appears to be nothing more than a small story than an encyclopedic entry. :-\ —Sivius(T/C) 19:26, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
FYI, I blocked Ming26 from editing the wiki for a month after he deleted nearly all the contents of the page. This was not his first offense. --Barrister 02:03, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

As one of those mentioned in the article I am insulted by its one sided portrayal of this... and that if Sonofab is unhappy with editing it himself that it is deleted or edited by an outside party... I would request permission to edit it myself but as I am too close to these events I would invariably swing it to my opinions, which is also unacceptable --Chrismor 17:58, 25 May 2006 (PDT)

I can actually vouch for all that has been said in the article, as being the truth. How do i know cause i was there and also i am connected to Sonofab, so he told me as it was happening. As for chrismor's little speech, there is a saying "the truth hurts" Mrssono

Warning! Mrssono/Rosalind100 uses the same computer as Sonofab/Ming26. They are either the same person or closely related. Any edits to this page by Rosalind100 may be considered an attempt by Ming26 to bypass his wiki block. If that happens, we will refer the situation to the Ocean Masters for resolution. Tread carefully. --Barrister 14:23, 26 May 2006 (PDT)

Sonofab

I removed a lot about the revenge (all of it I think), as I mean it should go on a page about Sonofab, and not on the crew page. The way it was written, it seemed it was his war aginst the rebelions, and not the crews. --Kinocha 16:43, 5 June 2006 (PDT)

I feel that this is a much better edit and a more encyclopedic edit, even though one of the facts isstill a little skewed, but as Kinocha was not party to any of these events they were not to know. There was in fact no plot to take over the crew. Other then that fair play to ye.--Chrismor 03:34, 6 June 2006 (PDT)

This message is specify for Barrister: You banned me from editing the wiki page of Ming's Dynasty. Correct me if i am wrong but wasn't it me who created the ming's dynasty page in the first place? If you wasn't happy with the work i put in to the the whole page then ain't i in my right to delete the page i created? or is it the case the as soon as i create a page within the wiki it becames the legal property of the wiki? As for the comments left by chrismor, mind your business! Sonofab

When you created and edited content here, you gave permission for that content to be used for the wiki. You cannot revoke that permission and delete what you wrote. Please see YPPedia:Copyrights for more detail.
Further, please take your personal attacks somewhere else. Telling other wiki editors to "mind your business" is unnecessarily hostile. All are welcome to contribute to the wiki. --Barrister 01:40, 26 June 2006 (PDT)

For the information of everyone, Ming's Dynasty has officially changed its name to Viridian Swashbucklers. It is currently under the captaincy of Fischer. Regards, Roranor. --Roranor
