Talk:Starfish
Disambig?
Should we move this to starfish (trinket) and disambig it with Starfish Island (Sage)? Or at least put a Cleaver type message on the top for searchers. --Guppymomma 17:02, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
- Almost certainly one of those. --Barrister 19:03, 6 June 2006 (PDT)
- Well, nothing has been done about this in the last 14 months, 4 days, so I added a note about the island. -- Thefirstdude (t/c) 07:48, 10 August 2007 (PDT)
Two of the three new colours
Too tired now to edit the colourscale pix, but here are the lavender & mint coloured starfishes if anyone feels like fixing the picture. -- Angara 00:45, 17 March 2008 (CET)
Image removed as it has been uploaded to the appropriate location.
- So we just add the three new colors after atlantean I guess. Colors 20-22 in the 18 color scheme. Any preferences in which order ? --Alfwyn 05:58, 17 March 2008 (PDT)
- Just go for alphabetical tacking on at the end. --Guppymomma 07:10, 17 March 2008 (PDT)
Rose starfish?
Image removed as it has been uploaded to the appropriate location.
ya, I'm pretty sure this is a rose starfish. theres almost no difference between it and the white starfish, but I'm pretty sure its there --Qlordz 01:40 March 20 2008 (EST)
- Aye, looking closely at it several pixels that have balanced RBG values in the white one have larger relative red values here. But it starts to annoy me a bit that rose is so close to white (hey, there's a large gap to pink to fill). A general problem though with small differences in color values from screenshots is that while most seem to coincidence with mine, I detected some with minute color differences from my screenshots (probably something readjusting colors to the monitor used).
- Well, anyway, thank ye for the image, I'll add it. --Alfwyn 06:43, 20 March 2008 (PDT)
Order
In the in game list the rose starfish comes between the atlantean and lavender one. (In trinket cases and in the booty tab.) The magenta and light green ones are the other way around as well. I'm not sure what order is used here, as they are not alphabetical, and not in the one used ingame. I know that others, like me, have been using place in the list to determine the color, (not all are easy to separate.) --Kinocha 00:36, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Up to Atlantean, they're all in game order. Lavender, mint and rose were added alphabetically, while magenta and light green were added in the order they were seen first. That last bit was a mistake on my part - I should have done them alphabetically also. Up until now, I had thought that the alphabetical lavender-mint-rose order was also game order, but evidently it isn't. Unfortunately, re-ordering would be significantly painful, as all two hundred or so trinket images would need re-ordering at the same time. There is a workaround, though, in that we can re-order how they're displayed on the page without having to re-do the image itself, though that slightly increases the complexity of the page coding. --Belthazar451 02:59, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- I think this is something we should fix before another mistake compounds the error. There are only 96 images that need to be fixed. In addition, we can take advantage of image reversion and upload the new image as we complete them, revert to the old image, and then when all the new images are ready re-revert to the new images across the wiki.--Fiddler 18:52, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ah yes, I guess it is only 96. Though "only" is such a relative word, here. If we're gonna do it, I think it's best just to upload them all at once, and maybe even tolerate a bit of a changeover period - all this reversion and de-reversion would just triple the workload, given the wiki software's lack of a do-stuff-with-lots-of-images-at-once function. Maybe three people can do thirty each, which is a bit less of a soul-wilting prospect. =) --Belthazar451 21:13, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Updating Colors
Ok, Wine and Chocolate have been added to the picture, but the Plum Starfish is missing in between them. I would be glad to help, since I have that color SF, but I don't know the process. Any help? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plankmeister (talk • contribs)
- The plum starfish has already been added to the wiki - it's just not displayed on the page. You can see it shown on this image. We're in the middle of a bit of an overhaul of how most of the trinket grids are arranged. It's taking a while, because we basically need to update all of them at once, otherwise things will break. That said, the plum starfish (and other limited edition colours) will display just fine with the my trinkets template. --Belthazar451 14:51, 18 September 2011 (PDT)
