Talk:Ippolito

From YPPedia

I added the accuracy tag as a result of nobody knowing of these creatures exisitng nor has there been any accurate reports of the existance of these creatures --Instantflash 15:51, 5 February 2008 (PST)

Agreed, since when are files in the data folders proof of it's factuality? People really need to read up on the spoiler policy --Inschato 16:36, 5 February 2008 (PST)

pic

there was a pic of one perched on a pirate's shoulder on the news in the game. they do exist. EllieNeo

I would also like to point out that there is also no proof that they are only obtainable from Atlantis, or that they are even obtainable from Atlantis at all. Please don't remove tags until you come up with complete proof or edit out the inaccuracies --Inschato 16:40, 5 February 2008 (PST)

I put the tag back up as a result of inconclusive proof of these creatures existing. Ye make take the tag back off once a image or proof is found of these creatures. --Instantflash 16:51, 5 February 2008 (PST)
I'm removing the disputed tag after I finesse the language a bit. The seahorse was seen in the in-game news, so it does exist even if they did remove the news. I'm assuming someone will eventually get one wherever/however they are to be obtained, at which point the article can be expanded. --Guppymomma 16:52, 5 February 2008 (PST)
The picture that was most recently removed from the page is featured on an official documents page of the YPPedia (http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Official:Atlanteans#Treasures) and thus isn't really a "spoiler". I put the picture back up. If there is a problem with it being up, please don't hesitate to remove it again. --Stevensam

Redirection

"Sea horse" should redirect to this page. This is the way I spell it and I'm sure many other people do too.

Done! -- Masterbratac 09:39, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Name

The string files show a different default name for this familiar. Should we use that name, or just have a redirect? --Thunderbird 14:52, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Use that name and have this and sea horse be redirects. I guess. --Guppymomma 14:11, 2 March 2008 (PST)

Known Seahorses

Soo.. So far we've seen that Fireangel of Cobalt and Bignev of Hunter have obtained seahorses.. Both of them have the golden triketos trophy, and all three silver trophies.. Could this be a pattern? =0 --Jimisailor

To me this just shows that those two were really doing alot of atlantis trips. And that should increase the likelyhood to obtain a seahorse. --Alfwyn 13:31, 2 March 2008 (PST)

Requirements

It seems that all pirates that have gotten it have at least one sublime. I know it is too soon to confirm, but I guess it'd be ok to add that "it's speculated to have at least one sublime as a requirement for it"? Specially if we consider that the release notes said this new item will be given only to "seasoned pirates". --Damagon 18:00, 2 March 2008 (PST)

I wouldn't add it until there's some sort of confirmation. Let's keep the speculation to the talk page and the forum, like the trophy page is done. You could add mention of the seasoned whatevers line that's in the release notes. --Guppymomma 19:58, 2 March 2008 (PST)
It can't be one sublime stat, Kenchio on hunter received one with no sublime stat at all.--Jimisailor 7:31, 7 March 2008 (PST)
Jennielise on Hunter recieved a seahorse with only a silver Triketos and silver Archelon trophy.--Northstar 1:23, 13 April 2008 (PST)

First person with each color

Is this really worth noting? In my opinion, the only significant first is the person who gained the first seahorse, not those who are the first to have one of a particular color (or on a particular ocean). --Thunderbird 04:05, 27 March 2008 (PDT)

Would adding them to the 'Ocean familars' pages instead be a good idea or should that be a seperate page like the tan ones ? --Alfwyn 07:07, 27 March 2008 (PDT)
Jennielise on Hunter recieved an Atlantean coloured seahorse --Northstar 1:23, 13 April 2008 (PST)
The only useful point about a pirate that has a color that has not been seen before is for the purpose of being able to obtain a screenshot of that familiar. Certainly any familiar that is won is useful to add to the appropriate ocean's familiar page so that it can be tracked. I agree with T-bird, the only useful name to have on the page is that of the first person to ever win an ippolito. Knowing who won what color or who was the first on each ocean is pointless. -- Cedarwings (talk) 22:30, 14 April 2008 (PDT)

Dust?

Will they dust? see http://blog.puzzlepirates.com/apollo/entry/i_is_for_ippolito "Divers report that unlike many creatures, the ippolito does age, and once it reaches a certain age (as yet there is insufficient data to be exact), it will head into deep water and attach itself to the underside of a rock to die. "

Response: I highly doubt they will dust, but you need to ask a pirate who owns one to know for sure..... --Jayuh
No, they don't dust. That was just Apollo playing a prank. --Belthazar451 13:12, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

It's Navy. The redness was a bug that briefly reverted all familiars to default colours (i.e. red for single-coloured familiars and red/lime for dual-colours). Here is the pirate's yoweb page. --Belthazar451 01:31, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
