Talk:Scallywag War

From YPPedia

I guess the main issue that I see with the different histories both state when the war began. To the Syndicate it all seems that it started with your post declaring war, yet I have seen a few people say that the blockade of Gaea III was the start of it, yet others contend that it was Eta II. -Jacktheblack 07:34, 7 February 2006 (PST)

You could just note that the start of the war is disputed and mention the different spots that folks consider the beginning? --Guppymomma 07:38, 7 February 2006 (PST)
I guess thats the real issue, since it seems that there are quite a number of options of this, since those are just two of the well known ones. I can think of some that reach even farther back then that that include personal history between people, or just small conflicks on the YPP forums. -07:41, 7 February 2006 (PST)
It's probably safe to just outline the more well known/major ones and mention that there are other theories. Here are a few wikipedia links that discuss sorta related topics that might help assuage your worries about covering everything: Neutral point of view & undue weight for minor points of view and Differing opinions on biographies. --Guppymomma 07:46, 7 February 2006 (PST)

How about you note that tensions between RAWR and SS began in late 2004 with the Cranberry blocks / Gaea, but the Scallywag War proper started when RAWR attacked Zeta and Endurance, and ended with your ban from the game. That way we include the March blockades, all of the Jorvik blocks, the couple of Eta blocks and the stuff with M A D and Shattered Faith. Featherfin 08:19, 7 February 2006 (PST)

Reminder of required content

  • Cnossos tranfer
  • Cranberry II being a diversionary tactic paid for by CN, ironically.

Cnossos transfer is already talked about in The Cnossos Auction area. Maybe more id depth talk about it would work. -Jacktheblack 14:14, 11 March 2006 (PST)

Other things to add:

  • Harbringers attack on Cnossos
  • Jorvik 6
  • Taking of Eta (Eta 2) Also why Jorvik was closed.
  • Retaking of Eta (Eta 3) and the NF attack on Jorvik (Jorvik 7)
  • Jorvik 8, The no-show
  • Jorvik 9, SS taking it for a second time.
  • Loots regain Jorvik though Transfer
  • RD's Ban
  • Jorvik 10, SS taking it for a third time
  • Jack's Ban, The fine.
  • A brief note on the conclusion of the war would be handy - right now the article just kind of stops. --Lizzie 06:10, 27 June 2006 (PDT)

Major Edit

What are the plans for the Major Edit? The list noted above? I really have wanted to work on this page more, but really, we need 25 hours in a day.... ;-) -Jacktheblack 17:05, 31 August 2006 (PDT)

Yeah, I'm exactly the same, hehe. I just stuck it there to indicate that the article isn't finished, really, as Lizzie seemed to think it was on the talk page. --Featherfin 02:07, 1 September 2006 (PDT)
Oi! :p I didn't think it was finished.. just thought that it really needs some filler at the end ASAP. So, yeah. --Lizzie 13:52, 3 September 2006 (PDT)
I'd love to see some additions/conclusion to this page, though I don't feel I'm qualified to make them myself (being notoriously non-neutral in some aspects and vague of memory or ill-informed in others). --Starhawk 18:06, 18 September 2007 (PDT)

Language tweak

Although the previous wording, "led to the implementation," can mean preceded the implementation, I've tweaked the language to make it more obvious that it's been not been officially verified. If someone can find a forum post or other official communication that verifies this as fact, feel free to add the link as a footnote and revert the language. --Guppymomma 20:22, 13 July 2007 (PDT)
