Talk:Sage Outcasts

From YPPedia
Strongly disagree on deletion. The deletion reason given by Fearlessphil is far from a neutral point of view (it never did anything good. It is pointless wasting server space holding this page). YPPedia is not parley. -- Faulkston 16:16, 29 September 2007 (PDT)
Strongly disagree on delete. The flag still exists, and has historical significance. -- Cedarwings (t/c) 16:49, 29 September 2007 (PDT)
Strongly disagree on delete. If it is now an alt flag, then the flag page should be updated to say that's what they are now as part of their history, it's not a reason to delete it -- Vorky 16:56, 29 September 2007 (PDT)

Whilst trying to remember things about this flag, I still fail to remember anything useful and helpful to the game which was ever done from it. When I was the King, we blockaded something from this flag, which of course was a miserable failure. For a while Lordcrump managed to weasel his way into royalty, which I petitioned to overthrow when he went dormant. Since then, I rejoined it, and had a few wars, for the remainder of time, my alt, Greenforever, has been the monarch of the flag. Are there pages on every flag, crew, and player who ever played the game? No. So why should there be a page kept on an insignificant alt flag? - Fearlessphil

Why does a flag have to contribute anything useful or helpful to a game if a game is for having fun? Events have happened with this flag. If it's possible to describe the situation with Lordcrump in a fairly neutral manner (weasel his way into royalty is not neutral), then this could be an intriguing view of internal politics. This flag article actually has a history section with content and that is far more than some flag or crew articles which are limited to not much more than an infobox. And yes, there is a push to delete such articles with very little content beyond bare bones. -- Faulkston 10:11, 30 September 2007 (PDT)

Ok, I shall write a short paragraph for the "situation with Lordcrump" for you. When Basset Island opened, I wished to attack it, unfortunately, up to three hours before the actual blockade, Sage Outcasts did not have sufficient fame to drop, so I enlisted the help of the flag Cold Steel, and their monarch, Volatile. (Yes, I am guilty of fame evasion). Cold Steel won the blockade, although I paid for it all out of my pocket, and chucked in a few War Brigs to sink for a laugh. After winning the Island, Volatile suddenly quit the game, and left his friend, ?Beniowski? (Name probably spelt wrongly), in charge of the flag, crew, and Island. He then posted on the forums that he was selling the Island, which of course, I found annoying, as it was effectively my PoE he was gaining for (yes, I paid for the buildings). The aim had been to transfer the Island to Sage Outcasts. The Island was bought by Go With The Flow (see forum thread somewhere), and they held an event to trade it. Shortly afterwards, I learned that Quintoxic Tangent (Also probably spelt wrongly), was attacking Admiral Island, so I agreed with them that they would pay for my war chest to drop on Basset, in an attempt to pull the forces apart a bit. Of course, with our less than experienced blockade navvers, we ran out of ships to "sink" (Non-sinking blockade), and had to pull out. I left the flag, to move on and do other fun stuff, and left a vote up for Euan to be monarch. Instead, Lordcrump, and another royal voted for Euan to not be monarch, and instead for Lordcrump to be the monarch. Euan left the flag as well, and so it remained in Lordcrumps charge for the best part of a year. I hope this was what you were looking for, as I did not write the original page for the flag. - Fearlessphil

That's exactly the sort of content YPPedia is looking for. I will be merging it into the current content. Thank you. -- Faulkston 20:46, 1 October 2007 (PDT)
