Fandangoing for 2006
I'm not entirely happy with this section of the page, it seems quite like advertising. It'd be worth incoporating into the article as something they did but as it stands it could use work to take away that advertising slant. Perhaps linking to the appropriate threads in the forums would work. Thoughts? --Featherfin 12:10, 11 June 2006 (PDT)
Expanding the Page
Well, in light of Fandango's disbandment and it's crews partings, I think it's time this page was updated and expanded. Fandango had a massive amount of impact on the ocean as a whole and deserves much more than the (what I feel is a) stub currently residing in this spot. I'm going to spend the next few days forum trolling and interviewing as many members as I can to put together a real in depth and accurate account of the flag's history including a blockades at a glance section (there were many) and links to any important political posts of interest. I welcome any and all help as this will probably be a very large undertaking. If you have anything you'd like to call to my attention or point out to me as I work on this, please leave a message here or on my talk page. Thank! --Muffynz 22:24, 16 November 2006 (PST)
- Let me know if you need anything. My memory is spotty, as my involvement waxed and waned, but I'm in a tell-all mood today. --AtteSmythe 09:32, 17 November 2006 (PST)
- I can free up some time to talk with you about the development of the flag as well, Muffy, either in-game or over ventrilio. PM me or try to catch me on Sage. Also check my "White Rabbit" post on the NF officer forums, it's probably a good place to start. --Looseweed 09:36, 29 November 2006 (EST)
Gladiators
The page simply does not feel right without going back to the foundations and the creation of the Gladiators as a counter movement... Anyone with a better working knowledge care to write before I simply dump my uninformed sprawl along here?
In other news, is it worth while creating a redirect from Gladiators to here, or should a seperate page be created?--TheRack 02:12, 11 December 2006 (PST)
- You only create redirects for things that have more than one known name. Gladiators was not Notorious Fandango. --Guppymomma 07:39, 11 December 2006 (PST)
- I agree Gladiators should be mentioned a little, in tandem with a discussion on the early opposition to the project. I threw something together for Gladiators and Early Opposition, and I think it's pretty accurate and pretty good. Someone on the other side of the fence should check it to make sure I'm not making any assumptions or whatever, and it definitely needs links. Among them are links to Misery's "Our First Response" thread, links to the Gladiators stub (whenever someone writes it) and links to some of the nastier Fandangotart threads throughout history. I'd say those two or three in the first weeks, the one where Seattlebrian has a conniption over Gaea taxes, and the one towards the end where NF did a forum contest for finding the best anti-Fandango quote would be good ones to link. I'm no good at finding links and linking stuff, though. It also needs a link to the interview where Cleaver told the interviewer that Fandango was "appropirate," although last time I looked that had been taken down. In leiu of that, maybe a link to Whitefire's forum post about it, or perhaps this link instead: http://www.gamersinfo.net/index.php?art/id:584 where Cleaver describes the NF project in his words to an interviewer.--Looseweed 08:37, 16 July 2007 (EST)
Link needs to be redone...
I think this section:
"The flag of Notorious Fandango officially came into being on January 12, 2005. However, the ideas that its members founded the organization on were nothing new to the Puzzle Pirates community. A very small basis for their flag name, their public statement, and eventually their fundamental flag ideals was derived from a forum thread located in Parley and posted on September 12, 2003 by a pirate going by the name of "Fandango" and titled Reveloution (sic).[1] Little is known about this character and whether he continued playing as himself or was an alt of another prominent community member afraid to voice these sentiments"
has a link that needs to be redone because the link points to nothing useful.
