Talk:Cobalt familiars
Looks like we have a problem with co-owned familiars in our template. --Barrister 14:36, 29 October 2005 (PDT)
- Just un-autolink the winner in the template then. --Guppymomma 14:39, 29 October 2005 (PDT)
Color errors?
I'm assuming Callistan knows which color Fonshizzle's monkey is, as I was just going off Wlada's post. There's a noticeable difference, however, between several portrait-ized monkeys: Fannon's brown monkey[1], Rubyspoon's "tan" monkey[2], Rubyspoon's monkey of some other shade of brown[3], and Fonshizzle's monkey[4]. I don't know which is which, but they're definitely not all tan on Cobalt. – Yaten talk 20:19, 25 November 2005 (PST)
- I assume that there's probably a difference between the male and female familiars as well. The easiest way to find out would probably be to just ask the owners.--Fiddler 20:23, 25 November 2005 (PST)
The best way to find out is to politely ask the owner to show you the familiar in a trade window, and then put a template around it. Heck, wait a moment and I'll upload the template I used for the monkey. Just paste it over the picture and compare to the chart. --Piplicus 10:28, 26 November 2005 (PST)
EDIT: Here.
- Confirmation in-game shows Ayeematey's and Wlada's monkeys are, in fact, tan. – Yaten talk 11:37, 26 November 2005 (PST)
- Ayeematey's definitely matches the tan familiar image in a trade window. When I saw Wlada in-game, his familiar looked the same. I'm going to venture to say Fonshizzle made an error in judgment when saying his was ginger (I've never seen his in a trade window or on his shoulder, just the portrait). Cahrin's familiar (here) is a true ginger, I believe, and Rubyspoon's familiar is probably actually tan (here with current owner, Escape). – Yaten talk 15:26, 26 November 2005 (PST)
- Upon further inspection, I'm going to say Rubyspoon changed her familiar's color on Cobalt. Compare these two images: [5] and [6]. The monkey is in the same pose but is definitely a darker shade of brown. Asking Rubyspoon in-game may solve this semi-mystery. – Yaten talk 15:30, 26 November 2005 (PST)
- Yaten is correct - a monkey was awarded on the day of the bake-off, but I was allowed to trade it for a different colour one (and happened to get the group portrait done before doing so). I have a screen-cap of the familiar-trade with Escape and it definitely looks tan there. I remember not being sure what colour I was getting even as I had it recoloured, I was just happier to have a more monkey-looking monkey. Ruby spoon 04:28, 21 June 2006 (PDT)
Bad edit?
I can't tell if Doompirate's last edit (Changing a familiar name to "Skank") was a true edit or actually trying to harass Caitlinarr.
- It was already reverted once, so I reverted it again. --Thunderbird 12:36, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
- Those are the user's only wiki contributions, and he/she doesn't appear to be the owner of the familiar. I'm comfortable with the reversions. --Barrister 16:33, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
- The user is Caitlinarr herself, she found me in game. She did indeed rename the monkey to skank, a form of dance. I edited back in, but noting it here for reference. --Fannon 15:57, 19 May 2006 (PDT)
