Dye is a product produced at an apothecary and purchased by weaveries. This second level material is used in the production of cloth to add color to it.

Recipes

Each order produces 5 units of dye, with exception of Kraken's blood, which will produce a single unit per order.

Blue dye

Historical notes

Dyes were historically the only thing produced at an apothecary, making the apothecary the first tier in a three-tier business of dye, cloth, and clothing production.

Kraken's blood used to be a special dye that couldn't be produced in an apothecary. It is used in the production of black cloth and paint.

Lime dye was originally used in the production of lime cloth, but the recipe was changed. Lime dye can no longer be produced by an apothecary, but the product can still be found in some holds.

Navy dye was a color of dye that was magicked by by Hypnos as a joke and existed on the Cobalt Ocean for less than 24hrs[1]. As of the summer of 2017, it still shows up as being bought by some islands on Cobalt (e.g. Olive) due to Brigand Kings taking the islands and setting buy prices based off of it's sales tax.[2]
