Nightmare is a large elite crew sailing on Meridian.
It was founded by Qvintus and Avienda for elite pirates to have a safe place to pillage.

History
Qvintus was the original founder of the crew Nightmare. He ran it as a solo crew back in 2007. After a few weeks, his brother, Jostain, and his wife, Avienda, joined the crew. The next recruits were Alhaja and Schoonerbum and all their friends and relatives. At this time, Nightmare was still a green crew. The members had fun being crazy: solo pillaging, pillaging without stock, attacking PvPs at random, etc. After a time, though, people went more and more dormant, until it was only Avienda and Qvintus online anymore.
During their solitude, Avienda and Qvintus started to play Puzzle Pirates a bit more seriously. Through interarch pillages and PvPs the crew fame and rank rose considerably. (Over 100 PvPs were won in a short period of time.) For the first time, the crew promotion stat requirements were raised considerably. Old, dormant members were demoted to fit in with the new requirements. Avienda and Qvintus took turns playing at captain, until it was decided to turn the crew Oligargic and only have senior officers.
Nightmare was also moving flags a bit at this time. They were in Daydream, then Naughty Collectors.Later Regnum Irae had the privilage of hosting the crew. Nightmare was asked repeatedly to join Sailor's Delight by Heffalumpy and Veloce. Sailor's Delight had just started growing, and Nightmare had a chance to help this growth along, while growing itself at the same time.
By this point in time, the summer of 2007, Heffalumpy recruited Irondave to the crew. ("Heffa told Iron "I could use an SO, Veloce would probably make you FO and Q would make you pirate"). So Irondave joined Nightmare as FO. Later that summer, Avienda gave her heartie, Childprodigy, an old fish that Qvintus wanted to have dusted. They talked for a while and Childprodigy asked if he could join Nightmare. This excited a lot of the other crew members. Childprodigy brought along a lot of friends. That autumn, the crew received a lot of new members (Hasz, Zooma and Asdzxcvz).
In February 2008 Childprodigy and Irondave were made senior officers. Killerkrok joined Nightmare aroundthis time as well. He was made senior officer rank in Autumn 2008. Irondave has since got dormant. Mariuskoenc joined as well. He was dormant a lot, so he didn't receive his senior officership until a while later.
Oftentimes, Nightmare will stop recruiting in order to keep member size low. The aim is to have a close knit group of friends, not the largest elite crew in the ocean.
On Nightmares 3rd Birthday, Sueirito was made a senior officer thanks to his very hard work and dedication to the crew. Nightmare celebrated this day by hosting many ocean-wide tournaments giving away expensive items and lots of poe and culminating with a large party on Vegas (the casino Grand Frigate) where local tournaments, present hunting and a few other party-related activities were held. You had to be a friend of a crew member to be invited.
On the last weekend in February, 2010, Nightmare left Vanguard and they created their own flag, Legacy.
Promotion Requirements
Cabin
2 Grand-Master or 3 Renowned in duty puzzles.
Pirate
1 Legendary and 1 Grand-Master in duty puzzles.
This rank is reserved for old trusted friends, who don't battle navigate but have very good stats in general. Non-naving officers are not allowed to lead pillages.
Officer
Grand-Master in Battle Navigation & 1 Ultimate or 2 Legendaries in duty puzzles.
Fleet officer
Legendary in Battle Navigation & 3 Legendaries or 2 Ultimates in duty puzzles.
Senior officer
Because the senior officers lead the crew, promotions to senior officer only take place twice a year. You can only be promoted if you have been in the crew for a very, very, very long time, are active, have the right mentality, and, preferably, are rich. All senior officers must independently of one another suggest a new candidate.
