The official Puzzle Pirates Discord server can be accessed via this link. The server replaces the old Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates Forums, which closed in April, 2022.
General information
- There is no integration between the game itself and the Discord server. Do not enter your Puzzle Pirates password to any prompt from Discord.
- The server settings are set to require Discord accounts to have a phone number attached to them. If you haven't done this in the past, you will be prompted to do so.
- When you first join the server, you will be prompted to agree to the server rules before you are able to chat. Upon doing so, the Pirate role will be automatically assigned, allowing you to chat in the various channels.
Server rules
- Follow both Discord & Puzzle Pirates' Terms of Service.
- Keep your posts respectful and polite. Constructive criticism is fine, but personal attacks and insults are not. This includes interactions with both other players and game staff.
- We have a zero tolerance policy on discrimination of any kind, but especially based on race, color, religion, or sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity). Harassment, sexual or otherwise, is not acceptable.
- No trolling, also, please don't feed the trolls.
- Don't post spoilers (content not on production oceans) outside of the Ice channel.
- No NSFW Content. Please keep things PG13. This includes your game activity/status.
- Don't impersonate staff or other players.
- Don't spam, flood, or mass-mention pirates or staff. This includes Discord links. Don't bump threads without adding to the discussion.
- Don't post other people’s personal or private information. Includes posting screenshots of chat, or other private communications without permission.
- No real world politics or religion.
- The bot is triggered by some bad words. Violators will be muted and comments deleted.
- No real money trading/deals. No trades of any items outside the game.
- Report violations of Discord's TOS via the Discord option on the specific message to send the report to Discord.
- Report violations of our server's rules via an in game petition with a direct link to the message.
- Report in-game issues in game using /complain.
- Don't post to protest a support action, such as a ban, suspension, or mute.
- Direct support-related issues and questions to the support staff via a petition or email support@puzzlepirates.com. We will not provide in game support or review moderator actions via discord.
Roles
- Dread Ringers (game staff) have blue usernames
- Moderators (player admins) have pink usernames
- Pirates (Puzzle Pirates players) have green usernames
- Newly arrived members who have not yet accepted the rules have black usernames
Channels
The official Puzzle Pirates Discord server has two main types of text channel:
- #️⃣ channels are used used for live group chatting with community members
- 💬 channels contain separate posts for the discussion of individual topics
All oceans
The following channels apply to all oceans:
- ✅ Read me first - This is where ye will find the server rules (you will be prompted to agree to these rules before you can chat)!
- 📢 Notice board - This be ye news from the Dread Ringers (game staff), including information on game updates, server status and promotions!
Global
- 💬 Game design - A place for detailed discussion of game design issues!
- 💬 Technical issues - This be the forum for asking technical questions!
- 💬 Tips and tricks - Ask questions and seek answers regarding gameplay, and tips on puzzling!
- 💬 Website submissions - Post yer community submissions for the Highlight or Spotlight sections of the YPP website!
- 💬 Mariners muse - Draw yer blade! Or write about it, sing it a song, cover it in papier mache... (The channel for posting yer art!)
- 💬 YPP-related sites - For discord servers and third party tools relating to YPP!
- #️⃣ Screenshots - Share yer funny or eventful screenshots here! (Please crop or black out private or personal chats or your post may be removed).
- #️⃣ Docktarting - General game-related chat. Yarr! (Please stay on-topic and take personal chats to DMs).
- #️⃣ Streamers island - Post yer Puzzle Pirates-related game or art streams here for your fellow pirates to see when you're live!
- #️⃣ Shore leave - A general chat for non-game related things.
- #️⃣ Rl familiar pictures - Pets for pirates!
- #️⃣ Welcome aboard - Welcome aboard the discord greenies! This channel announces newly-arrived pirates who have freshly washed ashore!
Events
- 💬 Events - Postings for forthcoming and recurring events, and the management thereof!
- 💬 Events workshop - A place for the discussion and planning of events!
- #️⃣ Event-only chat - This channel is specifically for event-related chatter!
Portrait Palace
- #️⃣ Show off your portrait - Post your prideful portrait here! (Please keep discussions about posted portraits only - all other discussion belongs in #docktarting or other appropriate channels).
- 💬 Portrait previews - A place to preview the portrait backgrounds that are currently available in-game!
Yppedia
- 💬 Librarians - Your Puzzled Posts Examined, Discussed, Investigated, and Answered (for posts!)
- #️⃣ Librarian chat - Your Puzzled Posts Examined, Discussed, Investigated, and Answered (text channel!)
