The crew Fire and Rain was named after the song by James Taylor. The original captain was Thehawk and the first mate was Garmo. Leadership of the crew changed between the two in late 2007 and then back once again in early 2009. This crew is on the Meridian Ocean flying the flag of Antheas.

Public Statement

Welcome to Fire and Rain!

Extended Public Statement

We're a group of friends, pillagers, merchants, and puzzlers with a fair bit of experience on the seas of Viridian. Whether you're new to the game and hoping to learn a bit about how things work, have spent some time pirating and want to take your puzzling to the next level, want to break into the merchanting trade, or maybe want to share what you know what others, we have the knowledge and experience to help you reach your goals. See any of our Senior Officers or our Captain for more information, or for an invitation to join our ranks!

Promotion Requirements

We here at Fire and Rain like to keep some professionalism in our promotion procedures. You may find that it takes a bit longer to reach each rank here than it does in other crews; this is purposeful.

  • Cabin Person: Any Pirate that requests full membership as long as they do so in Port.
  • Pirate: Pillage with the crew at least once, this allows us to get to know you and see that you can follow orders and know enough basic pillaging etiquette to advance through the ranks.
  • Midshipman: Have a decent Gunning standing (Respected+) and prove that you are an upcoming leader by working hard on pillages and by helping crewmates. This position will be given Officer in order to help with recruiting and other duties but will be expected not to run pillages until promoted to full officer.
  • Officer: Take and pass a Battle Navigation test with one or more of the Senior Officers or Captain. Prove you are able to successfully manage a pillage and win battles.
  • Fleet Officer: Prove yourself to be an asset to the crew over time. It may take time for a successful officer to be promoted to the Fleet Officer level, but if you're patient and consistently show us you're a strong, trustworthy leader, you'll earn this promotion. Master or above Gunning and Battle Navigation status is also highly recommended, but not as important as the above, more intangible qualities.
  • Senior Officer: Senior Officers play a very important role in the crew. Not only do they run pillages like the other officers, they also shape crew policy by voting on issues. In order to become a Senior Officer you must be unanimously elected by the current Senior Officers.
