Hmmm... I've been seeing this template on several crew pages but they don't link to Crimson Ocean? Bit of an obsolete template, I believe... If I'm wrong, please explain what it's for. Gunnerfreak on Cerulean 13:34, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Do you mean you've been seeing this template on some flag pages? I can also see it on some flag pages (okay, all flag pages). The reason is that it's part of the flag infobox template. The idea behind this template was that family ocean flags didn't have allies or wars, so that information was not needed on family ocean flag pages. But it could be hard, especially for newer editors, to go through as big of a template as the flag infobox template, to figure out how to hide that information, but only if on a family ocean. Enter this template. The flag infobox calls this template, with the ocean name as a parameter. If the ocean name is "Crimson", this template sends back the second parameter (which is empty), otherwise, it will send back the third parameter (which is the information about wars and allies). This is the edit that made that change to the infobox flag template (it later moved out of a sandbox template to this page). Does that make sense? Jlh0605 ^(t/c) 15:45, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
