Mercenaries was a flag on the Midnight Ocean. Led by Robertdonald, they gained infamy by becoming the first mercenary flag to attempt to blockade an island.
Supported by fewer than fifty jobbers in their only blockade, Gaea I, and facing a large opposition from Vilya and Imperio, the Mercenaries were defeated. Robertdonald immediately disbanded Mercenaries and continued his blockading techniques by joining with Manipulator to form Scallywag Syndicate.
The Mercenaries were the first blockade faction to offer payment to their jobbers, establishing a standard that now exists among most blockade factions, both attackers and defenders.
The New Mercenaries
On June 28, 2005, a separate group of players formed a second flag called Mercenaries. This flag should not be confused with the former flag.
