Public Statement

A long time ago, in a kingdom far away, there lived a preacher. Every day, this preacher would go out into the centre of the main square, stand on an upturned box, and preach lessons to the citizens of the kingdom. Lessons about morality, honour and living their lives in a more community-minded way.

One day, a young man arrived in the kingdom. A traveller from faraway lands. He lived his life with different philosophies and ideals than the old preacher, but nevertheless stood up and listened to the lessons of the day. After a couple of weeks of this, the young man decided that he wanted to teach the citizens of the kingdom about his way of life instead, so that they might choose which set of ideals suited them most. With that in mind, the next day he came to the main square at the time when he knew the preacher would be there. He stood on an upturned box, and started to speak in a louder voice than the preacher. He thought that because he was louder, the people would be more likely to listen to him. To his dismay, they continued to listen to the wise words of the old preacher.

The next day, the young man brought a bigger box. He stood in the main square, this time much higher and more prominently positioned than the old preacher, and again started to tell his stories, in a louder vioce than the old man. Like the previous day, the crowd ignored him and listened to the teachings of the wise old man. The young man didn't understand it. He thought people would flock to him to hear his newer experiences, thinking that the old man's days had past.

The following day he tried again. He brought an even bigger box, along with a loudspeaker. He went through the same process, speaking to the people, trying to be louder and more prominent than the old man. It was difficult for the citizens, because now the young man was so loud, they found it difficult to hear the wise old preacher. But they just huddled in closer and tried to ignore the young man's words, intent on listening to the preacher.

The following day, the young man brought the biggest box he could find. He stood on it in the middle of the square with his loudspeaker, and also with a drum, that he banged loudly every time he started a new sentence. "This will get their attention", he thought to himself. He started to speak, banging his drum before every sentence. The citizens of the kingdom looked bemused. What was this young man doing, making a spectacle of himself like that? He looked ridiculous. The old preacher was nowhere to be seen. There was no contest that day. The citizens of the kingdom began to laugh. They laughed louder and louder with every beat of the drum and shout from the loudspeaker. They laughed loud and long, pointed at the young man and made jokes at his expense. The young man was so distraught, he packed up his box, loudspeaker and drum and left the kingdom forever, laughed out of town.

The old preacher emerged from a small cafe at the side of the main square, took out his small box, stood upon it and smiled. He began to speak softly, and the citizens flocked to him.

He never saw the young man again.

History

Forget About It was started by Prisoner in the early days of the Sage Ocean; the crew name is a reference to "gangster" type speech. Though Forget About it is not an "elite" crew, many of the oceans finest sea battlers are from this crew. Many of the Forget About It crewmates were originally in the crew Bloody Blades of Sage. However, Subliminal argued with a number of the officers and SOs, leading Prisoner to start his own crew. He was followed by top puzzlers such as Parliament, Robberbaron and Lethe.

Following a brief assessment period, the crew settled upon Go with the Flow as its home, and has settled into its role there well, planning for future Sage domination.
