Every ship on the seas has a strength rating known as "might". Might is shown by a small ring around each ship: the might ring. The Might ring serves as an indicator of the strength of a ship relative to your ship.
Blue ships are weaker than yours, green ships are relatively even, and red ships are stronger than yours.
Since green ships have comparable "might" or "strength" to your ship, they are generally good targets. Might rings should not be used as the sole indicator of choosing fights—green Imperial brigands may be much harder than red Sailor brigands.
Also, be aware that attacking blue ships may incur the wrath of El Pollo Diablo.
