From YPPedia

Please read through YPPedia:Redirect again as you're not tagging the redirects quite right. That page has the correct text for those tags. --Guppymomma 09:17, 5 February 2006 (PST)

Taking a quick peek at a few more, I think I see what you're doing. The actual tags use "R" for Redirect. It's not changed for the first letter of whatever you're redirecting to/from. --Guppymomma 09:19, 5 February 2006 (PST)
I'll look through them again. I copied the example from "CO", but maybe I didn't get them all right. Thanks Wrs1864 09:20, 5 February 2006 (PST)

Article names

Things like PTB should have an article name using the spelled out name of Permission to board rather than use the acronymn. The acronymn is mentioned in the text and should be redirected to the full article title. --Guppymomma 09:21, 5 February 2006 (PST)

You are right again. I got this right when I created the "second in command" page, but forgot about it when I did the PTB page. Wrs1864 09:23, 5 February 2006 (PST)
Another thing to keep in mind: The wiki won't let you search for articles with fewer than 3 letters in the name. So a search of "XO" and "SO" and "sf" won't work like you expect. The "Go" button works, but not the "Search" button. --Barrister 11:48, 5 February 2006 (PST)
you appear to be right. However, I think the "go" button makes it worth while. At least it would have saved *me* a bunch of time trying to figure out what the heck "xo" meant. I eventually found documentation on most of these abbreviations on a forum posting. Ok, knew most of them already, but not XO, OiC, and a few others. If you don't think the entries are appropriate, feel free to delete them. Wrs1864 18:30, 5 February 2006 (PST)
Most of them look fine to me. I just wanted to let you know about the search limits. --Barrister 18:32, 5 February 2006 (PST)
An article named something like List of commonly used abbreviations would be useful. You could work on that and link to articles if appropriate for each term. --Guppymomma 18:33, 5 February 2006 (PST)
I thought about that, but I thought that was what the "R from abbreviations" thing was on the redirect. (You cleared that point up for me, thanks.) I also wondered if the "terminology" page filled this purpose. Basically, I wasn't sure enough of what needed to be done to go do it. The forum post (really thread) that I used was basically a list like you described, but I'm not sure that is the most appropriate thing for a wiki. Let me know. I'll try to help out. I think it'd totally be appropriate. The terminology list is a category and lists lots of words, but doesn't work like a quick reference. I'm thinking along the lines of a list of abbreviations with the short explanation of what they are & a link to any relevant articles, kind like a vocabulary list thingee. --Guppymomma 18:46, 5 February 2006 (PST)
