Ahoy! While I realise jpg isn't the best of image formats, the YPPedia requires a standard for images - for most things we use png, bit since portraits are already in jpg on the Yoweb, we stick with jpg for portraits. Note that it's impossible to make a jpg image less grainy by simply changing it to a different format. I re-uploaded your portrait direct from the yoweb, and that seems to have improved it.
