Infoboxes
Ahoy! Good work on adding pages to the wiki. However, I've noticed you seem to have some difficulties with page formatting and infobox syntax. Please have a look at other similar pages to see how they format things, and look at the usage notes for the correct way to use infoboxes. Note that indenting lines by starting them with a space makes the formatting go funny, as a leading space has a special meaning in wikicode. Note also that infobox parameters are case sensitive - for example |portrait=no
is not the same as |portrait=NO
. Fair winds, and good luck with your future editing. =) --Belthazar451 08:34, 1 July 2008 (PDT)
- Hoy mate, I've made adjustments to Hide and Seek. If you don't know the founding date of a crew or flag, you can simply making the founded=no. That way, it won't break the box, and you don't have to have the actually date. Also, an easy way to look up that information is to head to the yoweb page for the crew/flag, especially if you know that a member has a page here on the wiki. I simply went to Casper's page, clicked his Sage link, and then went to the crew page to get the additional information. If you need more help, keep asking! --Fannon 00:42, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
More Notes
When adding text to a page, please add it below any infoboxes. On multiple pages, you've put it at the very top, creating awkward spaces on the page. Also, remember to add links to the article. Standard terms should be always be linked (and only the first time it occurs in a page!) as well as crew and flag names. Linking crew and flag names is especially important in infoboxes. Please, please, please, check your spelling, once again especially on crew/flag names. You've misspelled multiple crews and flags in the boxes you've created, making it that much harder for proper pages to be created. Also, when adding or updating an infobox, include as much information as possible. We would like them to not only be up to date, but accurate, which means including the senior officers or all crews in a flag, etc. --Fannon 17:55, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've reverted your edit to the blockade page in which you added a link to your user pages. While I appreciate the effort you're putting into creating a featured article, links to the user space from main pages are not allowed. Even if it were to become a featured article, it would not be linked to from that page. Also, featured articles are meant to highlight interesting information from already existing articles. Take a look at the Featured article archive for a better idea of the length and styling of articles. The featured articles are named for their main article, and the article you seem to be featuring is blockade coordination. Hence, the name of yours should be the same. --Fannon 15:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to repeat part of what I wrote above: Also, when adding or updating an infobox, include as much information as possible. We would like them to not only be up to date, but accurate, which means including the senior officers or all crews in a flag, etc. Your update to the page White Knights is incomplete. Also, once again, PLEASE remember to format properly. The only thing you updated was the captain's name, but you forgot to capitalize it, as all proper nouns should be. --Fannon 22:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
