Ye hop off yer crew’s ship, after a long day of hard work. Yer ready to go home to rest and…Alas! A dark, shady light overwhelms the island! Avast! Could it be? Harr, Skellies! Our own ocean-dwelling living dead invade! And they’re not just regular invaders, they are also greedy gamblers! Bet yer pair o’ boots and a couple pieces of eight to fight this threat off yer island! Skellies are non-player ‘pirates’ (Yes, they pillage n’ plunder as we do) who can be found in a random island at a random time or in the Black Ship. If skellies are present at an island, ye will be able to know easily since skellies somehow ‘darken’ an island. Skellies come in groups of 3-50, all expecting to brawl! Ye can join a skellie fight, also called a ‘fray’, by clicking on a skelly. Skellies wait until the amount of pirates and skellies are equal; and until at least half of the joining pirates vote to start a fray. Surviving pirates will each receive a skull trinket; and all winning pirates get an equal amount of pieces of eight, and items lost in previous frays. The Black Ship; arr, the bully-punisher of the seas! This Grand Frigate, named ‘El Pollo Diablo’, manned by 150 skellies, appears when ye attack a ship with a weaker might ring. Un-graspable and invulnerable to cannons, this chicken is quite a handful!
