A collection of my most often used event running "disclaimers"

Writing events:

• Do not edit your entry post after the deadline; before that, edits are fine.
• XXXX words or less, in English. While this event is open to Opal and Jade, judging can only be done in English.
• The word limit of XXXX words will be enforced using this or this word counter. Your pirate information, title of the story (if you have one) and prize information will not be included in the word limit.
• If you plan on writing your story in another program, and copying and pasting it into the entry thread, it is often recommended that one use a plain text editor like Notepad to avoid the boxes and question marks that replace smart quotes. While some web browsers show smart quotes, it's a great idea to ask a hearty to look over your entry.

Art/Craft Events:

• Image Size: XX(600) x XX(600) pixels max. Your image should be in .jpg or .png file format. Additional photos may be included as links.
• Your entry will need to be uploaded to a photo hosting site of your choice - such as Photobucket or Imageshack. http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Howto:Post_an_Image
• Include a card with your pirate name and year in all of your photos! Photoshopping your name after wards, is not acceptable and will be considered an invalid entry

General:

• Deadline: <INSERT DATE!>
• Post your entry in the <Insert Entry Thread Link CLICK HERE!>
• General forum rules always apply. Language and subject matter should be suitable for forums.
• One entry per person.
• In your post, include your pirate name and ocean, and a list of the prizes in order of preference, if different than the default order listed.
• Entries must be posted in the above Entry Thread to be considered valid. Submissions via PM, email, or posted anyplace else will not be considered in the judging process.

Winning/Prizes:

• Winners will be notified in this thread. Prizes will be delivered to you by the Ocean Masters, and you do not need to be logged into game to receive them.
• Ship deeds may need to be swapped to an alt, and back to your main, to appear properly at the dock.
• Translations will be provided by the appropriate ocean's OM upon delivery
• No all-black, all-white, SMH, or Limited edition colors

Special issues that might pop up:

• Animation of art work
• Use of in-game or "found" art
• Poetry vs Story
• Fantastic tool for art events: http://www.tineye.com/
