Public Statement

"Yes, today begins a new order. Your lands, your possessions, your very lives will be gladly given in tribute to me, General Zod! In return for your obedience you will enjoy my generous protection. In other words you will be allowed to live."

--General Zod (in the movie "Superman II")

History

The Sons of Jor-El was founded on November 6th, 2007 by captain Zod. He was soon joined by fellow recruits Chumley and Scootdawg.

A few short days later on November 10th, Zod absorbed the crew Ye Booched It. Key acquisitions included Captain Iamdreads, Senior Officer Hendrew (now Endrew), and a slew of additional crew members. Although not realized at the time, this merger proved crucial to the future success of the crew.

At the behest of Iamdreads and Hendrew, the crew joined the flag of Raving Notion on November 11th.

On November 14th, the crew The Lost Lonely Boys merged with The Sons of Jor-El.

Additional independent pirates were added in to strengthen the crew's roster and stats. Top notch talent such as Hissy, Satinrose, Zekkafae, Stevenata, Jatt, and Supamario soon joined in as well.

In less than two weeks time the crew had grown from three pirates to over seventy.

On December 13th of the same year, the crew broke from Raving Notion and formed its own flag -- Phantom Zone.

On Leap Day, 2008, Insurence and his crew Impending Perfection merged with The Sons of Jor-El taking their roster over 100 for the first time in crew history.

The crew became ranked "illustrious" for the first time on the crew fame list on March 8th, cracking the top ten the following day.

On May 19th, 2008 Zod stepped down as captain and handed the responsibility to Stratacaster.

Zod returned to the role of captain on November 11th, 2008 after far too long of an absence from the game.

About the crew

The Sons of Jor-El was formed by Zod in an effort to unite like-minded pirates for the purpose of having fun while creating a very powerful crew. We base our promotional system on stats so be prepared to work if you want to advance. The crew's Web site -- www.TheSonsOfJorEl.com -- contains anything and everything you'd like to know about them. We welcome any and all new pirates into the fold so just ask an Officer for an invite.

Rules

Here are a few basic rules for this crew.

The basic rules and tenets of our crew are as follows:

  • Maintain a positive attitude. After all, the overall aim of this game is to have fun.
  • "Do unto others as you would expect they should do unto you." Our officers will always treat you with respect. Please return the favor.
  • If you would like to learn how to do something, simply ask one of the Officers in the crew and we'll do our best to put you on the proper path.
  • Although our crew is "autocratic" (which means that the Captain makes all major decisions in the crew), Zod weighs the opinions of the Senior Officers heavily when it will affect the crew.
  • Our pay scale is "Even," although on occasion the Captain will add more into the coffers from his own pocket and reduce his cut to zero for the benefit of the crew.
  • As more and more of you become ship owners, it is imperative that you put your name in the Officer's Log so that we know whose ship belongs to whom.
  • Any Officer who owns the ship being used for a pilly is automatically the CO (Commanding Officer), regardless of the rank of those on board. He or she can name their own XO (Executive Officer) or even relinquish CO status to whomever they choose.
  • The crew currently does not have any set colors that we fly or wear, so feel free to wear whatever ye got. If we ever collectively decide upon crew colors, we'll let you all know.
  • We belong to the flag Phantom Zone so always show respect to our fellow crews in the flag. We're all in this together.
  • A growing number of you have been openly begging fellow crew mates for dubs and/or PoE. Do not beg, PERIOD. Work with the crew on the various pillys and you'll be rolling in PoE (enough to buy your own dubs) before you know it. If the Captain openly sees you do this, you will be reprimanded.
  • Promotions will NOT come from you bugging and begging the Captain or Senior Officers. Use "The Promotionizer" on our crew's Web site to find out if you have truly earned the next bump in rank.

Crew Articles

  1. Always try your best. Never, ever, EVER give up.
  2. A pilly loss is a crew loss, a pilly win is a crew win. Encourage your fellow pirates!
  3. The best way to improve your stats is to sail with the Navy often.

Promotion Requirements

  • Cabin Person - Used solely as punishment.
  • Pirate - Broad experience in the three main pirates games makes a real pirate in this crew.
  • Officer - Solid experience in all three main pirate games, one Master stat (bilging, sailing, carpentry, or gunning).
  • Fleet Officer - Stats need to include a Master in Bnav along with three Master stats (bilging, sailing, carpentry, or gunning).
  • Senior Officer - Will be sponsored and named by the Captain. While stellar stats are a bonus, this position will come after a lengthy tenure with the crew in which the individual displays tact, diplomacy, a strong knowledge of the game, and extreme trust.
