The Lime Fleet is a crew on the Meridian Ocean, formerly of the Viridian Ocean. They're friendly, helpful, and chock full of character and personality. To find out more, contact the captain or a senior officer, and they'll tell everything a pirate would wish to know. The crew is open to all pirates, new and old, and as a member of one of Viridian's largest and fastest growing flags, they are involved in quite a few PvP battles - so they've got something for everyone. And they're almost maddeningly informal.

From their extended public statement:

"We love people with wit, character, and intelligence over all. If you have any of these things, this crew might be perfect for you. =) We run some pretty serious pillages at times, and we're involved in 'cades and whatnot, but this crew strives to keep a kind of family feel (no matter how cliche it may be). Keep that in mind. =)"

The crew currently has 31 active mates: four cabin persons, 17 pirates, six officers, two fleet officers, two senior officers, and the captain, of course. They also own a crew hall in Temple of Hades, on Napi Peak.

Recently, the captain and first mate have taken to running fruit with the crew's newest acquisition, the Poor Gar. It's become a profitable venture, and indicates that The Lime Fleet really does have limes in mind.

Public statement

Limes are sour... unlike us. =) They're also good in pies (ala Key), sangritas (Google it), and as a paint color, which happens to be our crew color. *winks*

Crew articles

Check out our crew hall on Napi Peak, in Temple of Hades! We've got SF and Poker! Also, crew funds are held aboard the Rare Salmon, a junk, in port at Napi Peak. Contributions earn /hugs and eternal thankfulness, but contributing won't get you promoted, and not contributing won't count against you. Money isn't everything, you know. ;-)

Rules

  1. Be nice at all times. Don't be rude or mean to anyone, especially greenies... they're new, give them a break. If you see a greenie with potential, try your hardest to pick them up for the crew. New pirates trained up by us to be excellent officers are what we need.
  1. If you are going to borrow a ship for a pillage, read the officer notice board and be sure to restock the ship to whatever the vessel owner said. If it doesn't say anything, keep track of what the stock was previously, and restock to that. Additionally, if requested, be sure to return a ship to it's home island.
  1. Don't abuse your rank. This applies to everyone, even Pirates... and the Captain. Excessive use of /plank, demoting without explanation, or booting without explanation will result in having your rank and privileges stripped. Pirates + stripping = not fun. Additionally, always ask PTB (permission to board) any ship smaller than a war brig.
  1. Since we are part of a highly PvP-oriented flag, a few PvP rules are needed. If you engage a PvP target, and they request a disengage before any shots are fired, HONOR IT. If you are engaged by a PvP enemy, you have the right to request a disengage before shots are fired. Once someone shoots, it's game on. Additionally, watch out - red outlined ships are owned by flags we're at war with. You can be sunk in these battles!

Ranks

First of all, meeting these requirements does NOT mean you will be promoted automatically. Whether you are ready for promotion or not is left up to the Captain and SOs.

Here's a brief(ish) explanation of our ranking system:

Cabin Person - For greenies who haven't bought a pirate badge yet, or (rarely) punishment.

Pirate - Open to all mates.

Officer - Broad experience in at least two of four duty puzzles (Bilging, Sailing, Rigging, or Carpentry). Additionally, you must have been taken out on a training pillage with either the captain or an SO. Training pillages will include basics of jobber management, charting, stocking, divvying, and, of course, battle navigation. Preferably conducted by an officer with a decent bnav standing. This last requirement may be waived by the Captain, in the case of an experienced mate joining.

Fleet Officer (FO) - Stay in the crew, prove your worth and loyalty, and actively participate, and you just might be promoted to FO. Posessing the deed to any ship is required, but won't get you automatically promoted. Another training pillage is required, but this one will be against your commanding officer - PvP training. Again, this requirement may be waived by the Captain.

Senior Officer (SO) - Only open to those who have been in the crew for quite a long time, and can be completely trusted. No other requirements, except character. =D
