Crew articles
Ahoy! We are a relaxed, friendly crew, loyal to our flag, and always looking for enthusiastic pirates to join.
To keep pillages trouble-free, there are a few simple rules to follow on our ships:
- Onboard, please take whatever station ye are asked to take and work. If ye would like to navigate or gun, even if ye have the required rank, ask the CO (commanding officer) first. If the answer is no, please take the assigned station and don't beg.
- Please don't beg, play games or spam the chat channels. Also try and avoid sending tells to the CO of the ship, especially when in battle, as this is very distracting.
- In battle, team in groups of 2 and 3 ONLY.
- Leaving during battle will earn ye a -1 share of the booty. An exception will be made for disconnections. Ye may leave between battles and receive a full share of the booty.
- If ye need to go afk (away from keyboard) for a few minutes, please tell an officer. Any longer and it is better to leave the ship and re-embark afterwards. Again, please let an officer know.
- Booty splits, hiring and promotions will be done at port.
- Have fun!
Promotions
Promotion through the ranks is reasonably straightforward.
- Cabin person: Just ask at the end of a pillage or, if you must leave earlier, during a quiet time at sea.
- Pirate: Demonstrate an ability to follow orders and have the pirate badge.
- Officer and upwards: In the crew for at least three days. Broads in bilge, sails, carp and guns plus some battle navigation practice (apprentice) and a basic pillaging test. Further details can be obtained from any SO or the current captain.
