Template talk:Spoiler

From YPPedia

Default

Is this supposed to be set to "Show" by default? --Ponytailguy 13:08, 22 December 2006 (PST)

It's not when I see it... --Sagacious (talk) 13:08, 22 December 2006 (PST)
It is and it isn't. It doesn't show the stuff it's supposed to hide, but the initial link prompts me to "click here to hide it".--Ponytailguy 13:37, 22 December 2006 (PST)
I think what you are referring to is the way it initially says [hide] at the end - when really it's meant to say [show]. It's an odd bug which occurs everywhere - unsure of a fix. --Sagacious (talk) 13:43, 22 December 2006 (PST)
Fixed; it needed an extra navFrame div at the beginning.--Fiddler 21:53, 22 December 2006 (PST)
Neat! Nice team effort, everyone. --Barrister 22:13, 22 December 2006 (PST)

show/hide button not showing

This template doesn't work for me. I'm using Chrome under Win XP, all updated to whatever's available. I can't find the reason. --Moonfish1985 12:01, 27 April 2012 (PDT)

Go to Preferences->Appearance and use a different skin. Vector or Monobook are good choices. Chupchup 12:08, 27 April 2012 (PDT)
Thanks! Though I'd think either this template should be changed to work with the PuzzlePirates skin, or vice versa. --Moonfish1985 12:22, 27 April 2012 (PDT)
Sadly, I'm not so sure that is possible to do right now. As I'm sure you can probably tell, the PuzzlePirates skin is presently rather booched. This template relies on JavaScript to function, and no JS functions (including built-in wiki functions like Enhanced Recent Changes) are working properly on that skin. --Thunderbird 02:28, 28 April 2012 (PDT)

no "show/hide" button - google chrome on windows vista

no "show/hide" button for me either (as above). I'm using Google Chrome (as above), but running on Windows Vista (BOOOOO, HISSSSSSS). already tried your suggestion, above, but did not find those specific themes so chose various plain ones (greyscale, etc)...and no joy.  :'-( please help! -- Franklincain 14:32, 12 June 2012 (PDT)

well, sonuvagun. it was not GOOGLE CHROME's preferences y'all were referring to, it was YPPEDIA's preferences...needless to say, once I stumbled across Yppedia's Preferences (for something else), I quickly realized my error. please disregard my above momentary brain-cramp.  ;-) move along, citizens. -- Franklincain (t/c) 14:40, 12 June 2012 (PDT)

overlaps with remnants from previous sections

This template has a habit of overlapping anything protruding from whatever section precedes the spoiler's section, within whatever article using this template. For example, in an article having a "Trophies" section, if the section immediately above "Trophies" has an image crossing over into "Trophies", this template's "Show/Hide" bar crosses right over that portrait. (Specific case in point was "Portrait", until I added a "{{clear}}" tag.)

How can we fix this template, so that it no longer does this? Adjusting the template would be more efficient than having to add a "{{clear}}" tag to all the relevant articles individually. Thanks. -- Franklincain (t/c) 08:20, 22 August 2013 (PDT)
