Template talk:Oceans

A thought: Perhaps we should surround this template in an {{ifndef}} ^(Usage) to check for the namespace, so it doesn't activate for user pages? I've already checked this solution out with {{Oceans Sandbox}} ^(Usage). See my user page and my pirate page. Both have this template, but the user page doesn't have the categories. This would cause it to not activate outside of the main namespace, but since it's only valid in pirate articles in the main namespace, this shouldn't be a concern. --Thunderbird 18:51, 1 May 2008 (PDT)

Template updating

This template needs to be increased to ten ocean parameters so that Template:Oceans-10 functions correctly (since we now have ten current or former oceans). --Belthazar451 06:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

YoWeb now has Obsidian as an ocean. This Template needs to be updated for 14 oceans. Gunnerfreak on Cerulean 14:51, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

no "usage" data ?

clicking on "usage" for this template give no data. there are no instructions published for this template on how to use it. such info would be useful to new YPPedians.

since this template is protected (read-only), I can not add in those instructions into the article myself.
