light green vs. lightgreen

Shouldn't that be called 'light green' ? At least that's the way it is spelled at the tailor. I think currently a rename would still be feasable. Just creating a copy under the name 'light green' would work too, but I would prefer a rename. --Alfwyn 17:12, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

I made it one word because the standard for functional template parameters generally seems to be to have one-word values. Example: usage notes for {{Infobox building}} ^(Usage) say "type: This must be an actual building type. One word (remove spaces), and all lowercase." The game doesn't spell those buildings as "ironmonger" and "rowhouse" either. --Belthazar451 21:13, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Sure there is precedence in this direction too. But it is "Template:My trinkets/Zombie hand" and "Template:My pets/Cat/primary/off white". --Alfwyn 12:47, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok, this is how it looks to me:

• Arguments for rename:
  • Matches in-game usage
  • Slightly more intuitive
• Arguments against rename:
  • From memory, I've only once had to adjust a "light green" to "lightgreen", so I don't think most users are having an issue
  • Adjusting something in the range of a hundred and fifty templates, pages and images, including Template:My trinkets/18x3 primary/lightgreen, Template:My trinkets/18x18 primary/lightgreen and Template:My trinkets/18x18 secondary/lightgreen, and the light green parrot and octopus images.
• Neutral:
  • Precedence/consistency

For me, the simple fact of the volume of work needed to make the change, coupled with the lack of any comment over it in the last six months, is enough to settle it for me. Something of a case of ain't-broke-don't-fix. That said, if you're willing to do all that work, I'm not gonna stop you. If we're gonna go with the rename anyway, though, then I vote we ask the Ringers to change it to some more interesting, better-fitting and, most importantly, single-word name. Well, I've done the change now, leaves the familiar images to do. Before I do that, do we still care about IE6 transparency issues ? Because I noticed the newer familiar images are not in PNG8 format. More on that in the YPPedia forum. --Alfwyn 15:49, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
