Trinkets in Treasure Chests

I thought I would just add this note to support what I saw pulled in as treasure from a successful Atlantis run I was involved with last night. We had a mate that was given a Sand Dollar during the booty division once we reached port.

[21:02:03] Treasure: Ninjacow received one Sand Dollar for outstanding Sailing.

Defending

Do you get chest split from defending or just puzzles?

Recieving CI type chests from regular brigand battles

I am working on a case where a user recieved some CI type boxes on a solo sloop pilly against regular brigands on a route from Sakejima Island to Prolix_Purlieu. Has anyone witnessed this?-- Haywoodx^(t/c) 04:07, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm guessing they were chests lost to the brigands by someone who went to a Cursed Isle, then won back by the other pirate. --Belthazar451 04:13, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

No this was not a PVP battle, but I suppose a scenario might happen were a player ship lost some items to a bot vessel which then lost those items to another player vessel.-- Haywoodx^(t/c) 04:17, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Loss of chests to pillage?

Isn't there something about treasure chests being lost at a higher rate if they're pillaged from you? Chupchup 06:58, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

for the "see also" (at beginning of page)...

1) I could see someone coming to this page if actually looking for any of the PoE chests, so I updated that link accordingly.

2) I'm not certain that stating the actual URL (with anchor tag for use within the destination page) would actually be more helpful or more confusing to the novice users. A more savvy Net-izen would be comfortable with the actual URL, but such a person already knows that he can read the URL by doing a mouse-over. Whereas a less-Net-savvy user might get more confused (instead of less) if presented with the URL in the text itself, instead of a more human-accessible "name" for the destination. Do we have any kind of policy or guideline for these "see also" blurbs?

End products of chests

I can confirm that kraken chests have PoE, clothing, furniture, and trinkets, I have yet to see one with a sword or bludgeon. Also, don't mugs and familiars show up for other SMHs? Wrs1864b 04:47, 31 July 2014 (PDT)

Thinking about it more, I'm not sure that end products should even be listed by chest type. I've heard rumors that "only kraken eggs give familiars", but that would be hard to test. For other SMH types, that would be almost impossible to test. Also, chests can give pets, IIRC. Maybe a short and vague discussion at the top of the article would be best and get rid of the per-chest lists. Wrs1864b 05:13, 31 July 2014 (PDT)

I think what we have here is an attempt to shoehorn in a template that is used for other things for the purpose of this article and it's yielded less-than-ideal results. The "end products" field is supposed to answer the question, "what do refineries make when using this product as raw material?" So I completely agree with your proposal. The template itself does provide us with something we do need -- the volume and mass of the chests, as well as the individual images. I set them to "n/a". I also deleted a paragraph from atlantis and kraken that probably didn't belong on the page and had questionable info anyway. I've gotten both good and old regular furniture from chests (and I think occasionally new), so I'm not sure where that 50 was coming from. --Budclare2 18:27, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
