New Ice Mission

Here's the text of the new Ice mission, which also utilizes the Pollywog.

Wise Bianca says, "Ahoy there! Ye may be wondering how pirates negotiate a barter."
Wise Bianca says, "First, it's polite to talk to someone before asking them to barter. Don't just go around offering
trades to everyone, it'll be quicker anyway to first agree to the terms of the deal." Wise Bianca says, "I will initiate a barter with you..." Wise Bianca says, "Accept the barter and we'll enter the negotiation." You have received a trade request from Wise Bianca. Wise Bianca says, "It's important to not click "ready" until the trade is fair." Wise Bianca says, "Don't be fooled by thiefs who say that they'll pay you "afterwards". This is the only negotiation interface." Wise Bianca says, "Whatever you see under your head is what you're giving, whatever you see under the other
pirate is what you're getting." Wise Bianca says, "Today I'm just going to give you this bandana, and I don't need anything in return, so you
can just click 'Ready'." Wise Bianca says, "Please click 'I'm ready!'." The trade was successful. Wise Bianca says, "Great! Now I'll show you how to wear it." Wise Bianca says, "The Booty Panel on the side shows yer inventory." Wise Bianca says, "Yar." Wise Bianca says, "Click and expand the 'Hats' section of your clothing." Wise Bianca says, "Good." Wise Bianca says, "Now, to wear the bandana, click down on the it and drag it up to the lighter-colored box above it." Wise Bianca says, "Shiver me timbers, now ye look like a true pirate!"

What to do with the old text?

I've significantly rewritten this page, and parts of Starting out, to reflect the new changes. Should we preserve the old Pollywog text somewhere, and if so, where? – Yaten talk 16:35, 21 October 2005 (PDT)

Pollywog (historical)? Or Pollywog archive? --Guppymomma 17:00, 21 October 2005 (PDT)
I'm not sure if it's really of value. It'll always be available looking at the history of the page. --Barrister 17:03, 21 October 2005 (PDT)
Why not put the old text in under the history header in this article? Speaking of that, what should be done with the text for the Bilging mission? After all, that one borrows some things from the old text as well.--Zyborg22 18:43, 21 October 2005 (PDT)
Ah, I didn't realize the Pollywog/Tadpole ships were used for that sort of mission. Maybe the text of all missions or the text of none of the missions is more appropriate for this page, then. – Yaten talk 19:27, 21 October 2005 (PDT)
I'm not sure that the rest of the text is used in the Bilging mission, but I do know that it uses the ropes jokes from the old tutorial. However, the Sailing and Carpentry tutorials don't have that joke. I might check later, but it's sort of late to check now.--Zyborg22 19:31, 21 October 2005 (PDT)

Somewhat misleading name

I might note that the introductory ships have been known as (adjective) Tadpole for quite some time now, the Forthwright Pollywog name hasn't been seen for awhile. Perhaps this article and references should be moved/renamed? --Thunderbird 10:19, 22 October 2005 (PDT)

Oops, nevermind. Just spotted a ship with the Pollywog name, ignore me. --Thunderbird 10:32, 22 October 2005 (PDT)

New text?

Should we nab the text from the different new missions on the Pollywog? --Guppymomma 21:25, 26 October 2005 (PDT)

Ignore me, I think I'm just delirious. --Guppymomma 21:28, 26 October 2005 (PDT)
Actually, I think that's a good idea. Then again, that would take up a lot of space in the article.--Zyborg22 13:41, 27 October 2005 (PDT)

Taking bandana away

whenever you used to quit the learn items mission after the badnana was given, you used to keep bandana now you dont keep it. dont know exact date this happened on though...

A while ago. It was a bug, I think. --Nicksterv (t/c) 15:03, 20 April 2006 (PDT)

Makes sense: Otherwise you could just keep doing the missions over again and get as many bandannas as you wanted. I'd always wondered what was in place to stop pirates from doing that, but there you go. --Emufarmers 15:55, 20 April 2006 (PDT)
