Can I (or somebody) link to the UK Meet-up here? - Dylan

I'd think it's fine, but you might want to mention that it's not an official YPP party (aka not Three Rings sponsored or whatnot). Feel free to add it yourself to practice your wiki skills :) --Guppymomma 15:33, 26 September 2005 (PDT)

Add parties

Brain too gooey to figure this out. Notes for me to do later or someone else to tackle with less gooey brain: Make two sections - one for official parties and the other for unofficial ones. Add the current unofficial party efforts - Ohio & NYC (I'll make a page for the NYC one tomorrow). Pop in introductory blurb about how social the game is and how rl gatherings are enjoyed by a number of folks within crews/flags along with the larger communitywide invite parties. --Guppymomma 20:26, 1 April 2006 (PST)

Geographical categories for users

Just browsing a few threads on the forum, I was thinking it could possibly be a useful thing to introduce some broad geographical categories for users so they can be contacted via PM or something for folks who are of the party planning persuasion. Yes, there are pirates who will travel for parties, but this could be a good starting point for the local planning contingents.

It would work somewhat like the language ones where there is a broad continent type category in which folks are planted when they add themselves to the smaller one. I don't know how to handle other countries, but for the US I would suggest something along the lines of:

  • Mid-Atlantic (DC, DE, MD, PA. VA, WV)
  • Midwest (IA, IL, MO)
  • New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, VT)
  • Northern California
  • Southern California
  • Pacific Northwest (OR, WA)
  • South Atlantic (FL, GA, NC, SC)
  • Southwest (AZ, NM, NV, UT)
  • Southeast ()
  • Alaska
  • Hawaii

Feel free to fill it out. There are a few more regions that should be in there to break it up some more. Although, come to think of it, if there were just state templates with the appropriate categories, that would work well and we can do all sorts of groupings. Same with other areas such as European countries. I'll ponder this more later, just thought I'd throw this idea out there as food for thought. --Guppymomma 08:31, 28 June 2006 (PDT)
