I support the delete only because right now there's no pirate with the name Nightshifter on any ocean, but since this pirate has a lot of history about him on this page if it's possible maybe we should make it into some kind of dormant pirate page if there's such a thing so if anyone makes a new pirate with this name they can make a page without a problem. --Crfandy5 6:12, 12 July 2008 (PDT)

Ahoy there! Just a word in your ear: even if something drastic happens to a pirate like them quitting the game or leaving a crew, we like to leave their encyclopedia entry in place, just for posterity and so that articles that link to them don't suddenly break. A more helpful, non-templated response: Your instincts about the history of the page are right. We only delete the pages of non-existing pirates when there is no unique information on the page. (E.g. Blahblah was a pirate on blahblah ocean.) In this case, a simple "This pirate no longer exists on any ocean" suffices for the page. --Fannon 18:04, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
