Talk:Misery
I don't want to be rude, but I'm blurry-eyed and tired so I'm not going to attempt this myself (I might try in the morning)... it would greatly enhance this article if someone would go through and add some more headings. Right now there's brief bio, Azure, and then what looks like several hundred words about Midnight, presented as a big, intimidating, yucky block of text. The content is great, but unless it's attractive, people still won't read it :-/ --Ponytailguy 21:22, 1 June 2006 (PDT)
- Bitch, bitch, bitch. :p On it. Seriously, I'd rather get the info while everyone is gung ho and format it later than not get the info in the first place. The rest of the wiki wasn't built in a day. --AtteSmythe 21:30, 1 June 2006 (PDT)
- Put some headings in, very minor cleanup. Some of this, we'll want to move or otherwise incorporate into Crimson Tide's page, if it's not there already. Great start, thanks guys! --AtteSmythe 21:45, 1 June 2006 (PDT)
- Yup, and when I haven't spent several hours walking through the most of Midnight's history, I'll give it a go. --Talisker 21:35, 1 June 2006 (PDT)
- Perfect, nice work. :) --Ponytailguy 05:48, 2 June 2006 (PDT)
Turtle
I don't want to edit it myself and spawn conspiracy theories, plus i'm perhaps too close to have npov, but fwiw the "previous leadership" thing wasn't an issue. She did decide independently to get rid of Turtle, but the point of Turtle was to build up resources (esp. ships) as a gateway to Xi and nothing else. There was a question back then of whether or not the ocean would abide a flag holding two large islands. Had CT kept Turtle when attacking Xi there was a strong chance that they would have been attacked on two fronts. Throwing away Turtle was more of a costly signal that was supposed to say, "If you so much as look funny at Xi, CT will burn you to the ground."--Shanoyu 11:50, 3 June 2006 (PDT)
- Shanoyu, I had put that in originally, specifically that it was given up to avoid the possibility of a 2 front blockade. Misery disupted that herself, saying that holding Turtle was a goal of Thanos' and that she wanted to get rid of it and go for Xi. She stated that a return was what they thought was probably the best thing for shopkeepers. --Talisker 15:28, 3 June 2006 (PDT)
- A third party's view - it's possible that Misery's reasons for wanting to be rid of Turtle were different than the rest of the CT Royalty/Policymakers. If so, it would be reasonable to clearly mark Misery's POV in her article, and offer multiple reasons and public interpretation at either the Turtle, CT, or blockade history pages. --AtteSmythe 17:30, 3 June 2006 (PDT)
- I'm kind of confused. Maybe my memory is going. You could ask Rome and the people who were actually royals at the time on just how that was sold to them, but I thought it went a little differently. --Shanoyu 05:53, 4 June 2006 (PDT)
- At the time the general stated purpose was to get rid of Turtle to avoid it ever causing a loss at Xi. Mis did mention further personal reasons to at least me, but as I was not a royal back then, so I don't know how it was sold to the rest of the Royals. I would definitely agree that Turtle never was one of her goals and that she thought it was a distraction from Xi and that there were other royals who also held this opinion. She also sympathized with a lot of the people who thought taking Turtle was wrong, which was a lot of the motivation for giving it back to the Ringers. She thought it was a gesture that would help make things right and did not expect everyone to go nuclear the way that they did. --Rome 07:41, 4 June 2006 (PDT)

Summer of War
Although we did use this term on our forums because we did have much more planned, I don't beleive we ever formally announced a Summer of War anywhere public. It's really nitpicky though so I'll just leave it and add some stuff as to why the summer of war never really finished. Rome 07:32, 4 June 2006 (PDT)
Oh, also, I didn't sink any SN ships. I removed that part.--Rome 07:53, 4 June 2006 (PDT)
