Talk:Inferno class sloop
From YPPedia
I started the page and added all the specs I could without physically owning one. Also as I am unaware how to creat a snapshot of the ship decks without a pirate in them, I leave that for the professionals. If somebody who is aware of how to take that snapshots would leave a comment on my user talk page, I would greatly appreciate it!
Main Deck floor plans
I was checking over a few other floor plans for other ships, and in some - the raised deck at the back is offset on the floor plan. I found it kinda confusing working out how the offset had been done - but noticed that on the Grand Frigate there is no offset. Should there be one - and if so - is it just a case of shifting the back end over 2 squares? --Sagacious (talk) 13:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, the deck should be offset. The grand frigate floor plan is not correct. The reason for the offset is that the floor tiles are offset in-game to give the illusion of height. We show the real layout to help players know exactly where to place their own props. By the way, nice work on increasing the number of floor plans. It's been on my to-do list for a while now. --Barrister 03:19, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Is it just literally a case of shifting the end over 2 squares? I could see why they were offset, but I was trying to translate existing offset plans and got a bit confused. Also I added a trigger to a few templates to categorise pages which need floor plans - if you didn't see: Category:Missing floor plans. I need to add an "external" option for a few templates like housing, and then all scene templates should detect missing plans. --Sagacious (talk) 16:52, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delay in replying. You shouldn't need to guess how much to shift. You should be able to drag furniture around and see the offset as you go along. It's hard to describe this in words, but I'm willing to try for a deeper explanation if that one didn't make sense. Best bet is probably to PM me in the forums. --Barrister 06:17, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- The only thing which confused me initially was trying to compare existing offset floorplans with the decks they showed - but after some more playing around in the arrange furniture menu, I worked it out. It was clear it was a 2 offset, but the extra red rows was throwing me off. I've updated the plans I made to be offset. --Sagacious (talk) 12:03, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
