Talk:Gem thieves
From YPPedia
I have a screenshot where gems were stolen while I was in battle. Is that enough for someone to update the page or do I need to post the image here first?
- I removed the sentence since I've also had that happen to me. Brandishwar 00:22, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I know it's wonderful to show a formula, but I do think you could use better notation for the floor function; while being mathemetically inclined, the symbol that you use did not register in my feeble head ;( --Spelunk 17:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, for the non-mathematicans, there is the sentence ...dividing by 25 and rounding down preceding the formula. In my opinion, if a formula is used, it should use the current notation, because that's the one in common use. --Alfwyn 17:49, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Theft interval
Does anyone know the rate at which the gems are stolen (time intervals, league points, etc.)? This information would be very useful for deciding if it is worth it to have more than 25 gems aboard. --Andrewh23 10:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- I just had one gem stolen after 19 minutes of having 25 aboard. Interestingly, the gem taken was the gem I had least of - which contradicted the article's claim of the gem of largest quantity being taken from first. I had 10 coral and 10 lapis lazuli and 5 rubies aboard.
July 11, 2010 4:45 AM Rampaging gem thieves pilfered 1 units of Rubies. July 11, 2010 4:26 AM -500 Pirate found 5 units of Lapis lazuli gems while foraging.
- Interestingly, it seems as though the gem thieves bugged somehow - as vessel logs report gems were stolen earlier when I left the vessel unattended, but they were still in the hold when I returned. I don't know how long the gap was that I was off the ship - it was more than likely longer than 15 minutes though. I'm still cross-checking logs to see if it was a bug or not. --Sagacious (talk) 03:59, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
