Abbreviation in article name
It's probably better to not have the abbreviation in the page name and to spell it out. You can abbreviate in the text and do a disambig page or index or redirect for GHT. --Guppymomma 15:15, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- You've lost me. I used the abbreviation in the page name because I've got a series of pages planned, so I'm plunking them in a psudo-namespace. --Ponytailguy 15:17, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- I'm saying your pseudo-namespace should be real words and not a generally unknown abbreviation. --Guppymomma 15:48, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- Does it make an enormous difference? Most people who run across it will be linked instead of searching, and I highly doubt there will be an enormous number of links to the GHT from within the YPPedia. --Ponytailguy 15:49, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- Consistency is good as we generally don't use abbreviations in article titles. Also if it's just going to be linked to, it wouldn't hurt to change the title to the noabbreviated version because doing so isn't a big bother and could potentially get a few more people using it from accidentally find it in a search & becoming interested in looking at it due to the title being understandable, unless this is meant to be a secret resource. --Guppymomma 16:17, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- Consistency is meaningless here; as far as I know, this is a unique situation, so there's nothing to be consistant with. We do generally avoid abbreviations, yes, but in this case, the abbreviation isn't in the article name, it's in the psudo-namespace. If it's absolutely vital that this not have abbreviations in the title, go ahead and change it, but it just seems like overcorrectness at the expense of intuitiveness to me. --Ponytailguy 16:22, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- Jumping in here... I generally agree with Guppymomma. Personally, I have no idea what GHT is supposed to stand for. Perhaps there's a middle ground that involves a shortened version of whatever GHT means without spelling it all out. --Barrister 16:49, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- As a non-wiki admin, I'd like to request that GHT either be given a more natural abreviation (maybe even just GH for Greenie Helper), the T just throws it off for me. It also should be written completely out, even if it's in ()s under it or something. Standard form, never start something with an abbreviation. :) --Dragonlilly 18:45, 12 July 2006 (PDT)

A section on what items can be used/bought should be added (with at least links to the relavent pages or a new list made with just that info). It should also be explained to greenies that they don't need to buy their own shot, rum, cloth, apoth supplies. I still have plenty of greenies who do this regularly in all of my shops. --Dragonlilly 18:45, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- While certainly it's a good idea, that might be relevant to a resource designed to be use by greenies. This isn't it. :-/ --Ponytailguy 21:54, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
Work in progress?
Is this project still being worked on? Only it's been close to two years, and Ponytailguy himself hasn't made any edits in a year. --Belthazar451 06:08, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
- I'm going to guess that since PTG has retired from the game and the wiki that it is no longer a project he is working on. You can remove the long term project tag if it's really bothering you. --Fannon 10:32, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
