Dolgan's recent edit to list him on this list claims 11 familiars, but I can't seem to find any record of Dolgan winning colored familiars on the YPPedia. Just looking to do a factcheck on this one. -- Stevensam

Which page do you mean? His in-game pirate info page or the page on Yppedia? Cause here on Yppedia you can see he's got 5 familiars at the moment. If I was informed correctly, Familiars will only show up on your In game Pirate info page if they have a name and if you have them in your booty panel. If you happen to have them in your wardrobe, they won't show up in the pirate page. If I was informed wrong, I'd like to hear that :) Scrappy 05:29, 27 March 2008 (PDT)

His YPPedia pirate page only lists 3 colored familiars won. This page does not track tan or white familiars. It also does not concern the number of familiars a player owns, only those which they won. And note that a parrot must not have any tan, and cannot be pure white, in order to count for the purposes of this list. --Thunderbird 05:32, 27 March 2008 (PDT)

How would colored familiars awarded from races (and potentially any other team events) work? Do they count at all for this list, and if so is it only the pirate technically awarded the familiar? --Romtu 13:48, 03 January 2009 (PDT)

Why are white/OCL familiars not included? I'm curious as to the logic, given that they are rarer and arguably more worthy of mention. Also, I'd like to follow up regarding the races question - what counts as "won"? Do OM-run auctions count, since they were technically purchased? --Thalatta 18 July 2010

I see a relatively new entry for Flatliner. The pirate lists all the familiars he's won in wagers in his count, but I don't know if that's a very legitimate stat to track. Frankly, not a single thing on this page is independently verifiable. Or encyclopedic. Legitimacy doesn't really enter into it - in my personal opinion, the whole idea isn't something worth tracking, especially considering familiars are way more common now than they were when the page was originally made. Ninety percent of this page hasn't even been touched since it was first established six years ago, much less kept fully updated. What, precisely, are you proposing we do to verify (or legitimise, if you want to put it that way) his count? Or Nickbush's? Or yours? --Belthazar451 02:40, 9 April 2012 (PDT)
