Talk:Die By The Sword (disambiguation)
first one formed should hold primacy
Per my understanding, the FIRST crew/flag/whatever of a specific name that was formed holds primacy over subsequent others. Therefore, this page ought to be renamed to "Die By The Sword (dismbiguation)" and the Meridian crew should have the appropriate "...redirects here; for other uses..." tag embedded and be renamed to (just) "Die By The Sword"...However, I am seeking confirmation before doing this myself... -- Franklincain (t/c) 10:16, 28 July 2012 (PDT)
- Actually, the Hunter crew is the one that was created first, in 2007. But I don't think we have a hard-and-fast rule about who gets to dominate the article name, if anyone. If there were only two crews, then a hatnote would suffice for both. Since there are more than two, disambiguation is necessary. I would suggest that we leave it as-is. The Crimson crew is obviously gone and the Hunter crew is also gone. There is no clear primary topic, IMHO. Perhaps notes should be made on this disambiguation page that two of the crews no longer exist. Chupchup 14:38, 28 July 2012 (PDT)
- Die By The Sword (Meridian) --> Founded 19 October, -2005-. Die By The Sword (Hunter) --> Founded 12 January, 2007. Meridian (nee Viridian)'s 2005 was before Hunter's 2007. Also, like you said, two of the three no longer exist; and that is actually a -second- reason the Meridian crew should have primacy. -- Franklincain (t/c) 16:12, 28 July 2012 (PDT)
Delete Die By The Sword (Meridian) redirect?
I've merged the relevant bits of history into the un-disambig'd article, so this Disambig page can be moved to [[Die By The Sword]] after moving the article over the Meridian redirect. Having an article with (disambiguation) that does not pertain to an island or an archipelago just doesn't look right... Gunnerfreak on Cerulean 16:31, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
