Royalty

I'm adding royalty under the "At A Glance" Bar --Soveruin

That won't work. See here. --Emufarmers 11:34, 22 July 2006 (PDT)

I see that now. --Soveruin

That wasnt a very helpful edit

I just spent 10 minuted recording info, to find that THE WHOLE THINGS BEEN MESSED WITH! uRGGH!

I made the page more in the style of other flag pages. This is a collaborative project; you shouldn't be upset when other people modify your work. --Emufarmers 12:09, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
I think Soveruin was complaining that it wouldn't save because it conflicted with your edits. As a reminder, please give users a chance to make additional edits. You waited a mere 3 minutes before jumping in. Further, Soveruin is clearly a new editor. Helpful comments are welcome; chastising ones are not. --Barrister 14:27, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
I don't think that should have struck: As it was, I got an edit conflit warning on my edit, and reworked his changes into mine. I'd have bristled less if the title of this section didn't seem so pointed. --Emufarmers 15:12, 22 July 2006 (PDT)
I reiterate Barrister's statements. The article will still be there for you to edit if you wait 15 minutes for a new user to wet their toes in the wiki. The first edit you made to remove things was a mere minute after the user edited the article. Then your second cleanup edit took place 3 minutes after an edit. Looking at the fact that Soveruin was obviously trying to do some amount of editing due to the multiple edits there, it would behoove you as a more experienced wiki editor to have a little patience with folks new to the community and even try commenting on their user talk page with helpful suggestions instead of editing the article they are working on. Conflicting edit issues may have occurred when he tried to do edits when you did your two edits seeing as he may have spent a few minutes working on it using preview before hitting submit. Unless you want to encourage folks to constantly hit submit instead of taking longer & using preview because they feel the need to "protect" their changes due to jump editors, wait a while for your corrective edits, especially when it appears the user is doing more than one edit in a row.

Thanks for backing me up, yet I do beleive I could have taken care to put in the: This page is undergoing a major edit, so that no-one would jump in. --Soveruin
I misunderstood what you had meant at the time, then; you marked the article with the cleanup tag, which usually signals for others to start overhauling an article, although now I see you meant for it to mark that you were actively working on it (there is the {{inuse}} template, which is for exactly that purpose, although it is a bit difficult to locate; I've added it to the style guide for easier reference). My apologies for not being as understanding as I should have been. :) --Emufarmers 21:26, 24 July 2006 (PDT)

History

Blockade history looks funky and bothers me! Wanted to post here in case others notice that as well. This is because we have a cede and blockade before the current flag was technically founded. Full flag history will help explain, and mates are currently working on it but it probably won't be up anytime in the immediate future. user:tarajayne
