Only changing it to keep with the universal pirate page template. Your biography itself was never touched in the process. —Sivius(T/C) 04:56, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
Still think I should be able to have it look a bit the way I want it. As there are several out that that have no format at all. Thanks for your help tho.
And of course, the occasional round of spelling fixes. --Sagacious (talk) 04:58, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
AFAIK, that format was put in place for that reason, to clean up current ones with no format. They're not all done yet. Thing is, YPPedia is an encyclopedia, it's better to have one universal format that all pages follow, for clarity, rather than every page having it's own look IMO. —Sivius(T/C) 05:10, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
In any event, I'm sorry, but you can't demand that nobody else edit your page. All YPPedia content belongs to and is managed by the community. If you would like to maintain an untouchable biography, you may want to get a website. The only time we prevent edits to pages is when the pages represent official documentation, the pages are vital to the functioning of the YPPedia, or the page is in the middle of an edit war. Your biography fits none of these conditions. --Ponytailguy 08:13, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
yea this has just become a headache anyway. Have fixed it to follow the guidelines but mostly sorry I ever bothered trying to help
Hmm? Don't get me wrong, it's great that you want to have your biography here and contribute to the YPPedia... a major tragedy is that so many pirate biographies basically say "I IS CPTIN OF TEH BLARGS LOOLLOLLLOL!!!!", so seeing someone putting the effort into developing a biography that's actually quite interesting is very refreshing. If you want to have a private biography, you can also put it on your userpage, and nobody will ever touch it or fix it for any reason (as long as you don't post kiddy porn or anything stupid like that.) But, as I said earlier, this is a community effort. We share. :) --Ponytailguy 08:18, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

well maybe if there are guidelines that must be followed they should be posted somewhere for those of us not as computer savy to see and follow to save other ppl this problem

That's a possibility. It's worth noting, though, that when you log in, you are given a link to the policies and guidelines section. (Granted, not every page is as easy to find as it should be; the style guide can be hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for.) --Emufarmers 09:22, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

I searched for hours and until someone put the link here I had no idea that I must follow guidlines for my bio like for the crew and flag. Since so many others seem random and just thrown together I thought I was doing a good job. I guess I was under the impression that my bio was more like my userpage. (my mistake) Even reading some stuff over and over I don't understand how to do it. For exaple signing my replys like you all do.

Yeah, I can see how some of the information is too hard to find: Hopefully we'll be able to make it easier in the future. But remember this: Nobody holds a beginner's mistake against you. Mainly because a lot of people have made beginners' mistakes. :) (To sign your comments, put --~~~~ after your message; to indent your message past the previous one, just put a colon (:) in front of it [or two if the previous message was indented, or three if the previous message was double-indented, etc.].) --Emufarmers 09:53, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
Thanks so much for all the help at least its there now--Stlnmyhrt 10:05, 29 May 2006 (PDT)
As a afterthought, perhaps when needed it change a page to fit in guidelines leaving a note might be nice so we know why it was reformatted. May save ppl that spent several hours cause they weren't sure how to do it will not get their feelings hurt to come show it to someone and find it has all been changed.--Stlnmyhrt 23:53, 31 May 2006 (PDT)
