Talk:Automated Ice tournaments

From YPPedia

Rather than merging, isn't this a case for using transclusion on the automated tournaments page?

--Haemus 14:12, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

Umm. I'd rather see this merged into the Automated tournaments article. It doesn't warrant it's own page in my opinion. --Sagacious (talk) 14:14, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
The effect is mostly the same, but the maintenance would then be similar to the Current events pages, which are also based on transclusion. Are the other oceans' tournaments on so regular a schedule? --AtteSmythe 14:21, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
I agree with Haemus; the Ice tournaments are on a completely different schedule and with completely different prize types than the other five oceans.--Fiddler 14:23, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
But they are still automated tournaments. We could do with more content on the Automated tournaments page. --Sagacious (talk) 14:30, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
The content would display there, but it would be included as a {{:Regular ice tournaments}} --AtteSmythe 14:34, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
I don't particularly like this article's title. It should be called something like 'Automated ice tournaments'. --Sagacious (talk) 14:37, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
Works for me. --AtteSmythe 14:46, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
Moved. The original title was just the first thing I thought of. --Haemus 15:46, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
Sorted. If you add &nb sp; (no space) to where the blank space currently is, it will cause an empty cell box to be made. Makes the table look nicer. --Sagacious (talk) 15:49, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
It looks the same to me with or without, is this a browser issue? (I'm using Firefox 1.5 here.)
The empty cells are being filled anyway. --Haemus 17:02, 27 July 2006 (PDT)
As for content on the automated tournaments page, I could automate generation of wiki tables for the trinket (4 hours) and tan familiar (8 hours) tournaments for the current and coming weeks (and highlight puzzles which are free on those days). This of course practically requires transclusion to avoid my script trampling over edits to the main automated tournaments page.
The list of specific current automated tournaments there is good although it needs some expansion and clarification. --Haemus 17:09, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

The times appear to have changed, and this chart is no longer correct. We just had the Golden Fleece on Ice at 10 PST instead of 12. I'm not sure if the others are offset the same time or not. --Muroni 10:32, 19 September 2006 (PDT)

Times are still off, and I'm really confused. Some seem only off by the adjustment hour of DST, but others are completely off schedule or just plain missing. Both drinking tournaments just started 2 minutes apart? All times below in Pirate Time.

Meow Mix started at 10:30, an hour early from it's posted starting of 11:30.
Goblets of Firewater started at 11:45 (correct)
The Thirsty Monarch started 2 minutes later, 11:48, 4 hours earlier than it's posted starting of 3:45.
Burning Bright and Orange Marmalade simply didn't happen before the next scheduled tourney came up. Not cancelled for lack of participants, but never went up to begin with.
Fish Slapping began at 1:15, an hour early from it's posted starting time of 2:15.
Golden Fleece began at 2:00, 2 hours late for it's posted starting of 12:00.
Daggers at Dawn began at 2:00, 1 hour early for it's posted starting of 3:00.
The Pits started at 3:00, 1 hour early from it's posted starting time of 4:00.

Can anybody confirm the current times?--Muroni 01:51, 11 November 2006 (PST)

From November 21 there is a new drinking tourney, Time to stein at 2.30. Prizes are an orange stein and a navy/yellow ribbon Rubbaduck

Yes. All of the ICE tournaments have been changed. The schedule appears to be fixed now that they are all new tournaments, and it appears to be the same 12 hour rotation schedule as before. I've got a partial list of the new tournaments, and I'll edit this wiki listing as soon as I have the complete list (another day or two). --Muroni 21:19, 28 November 2006 (PST)

Any idea when the new chart of tourneys will be available? -- Tonyanator (tkp42 on forums)

Time observations, April 25th

Mark down tourney name and the time (in pirate time). This will enable us to work out the tourney repetition schedule.--Fiddler 05:59, 23 April 2007 (PDT)
