Talk:Alice class sloop
paint needed -- chess board
Before we can confirm how much the total paint used will be, we'll need to confirm whether or not this scene (the chess board) uses paint, and if so how much. -- Franklincain (t/c) 08:16, 19 July 2013 (PDT)
- It cant be Painted unless you are The Queen of Hearts :)

How do I sign a comment Lord Frank?
- First of all, my name is "Franklin" (eight letters; two syllables). Second, to sign a comment, type four tildes in a row ("~~~~"), and the wiki software will automatically parse that into a date-time stamp and your signature when you click on the "Save Page" button. -- Franklincain (t/c) 18:50, 20 July 2013 (PDT)
adjectives used
Just got my ship today, and here is the adjective it used: "Nonsensical". Once we accumulate enough of these, we can update the article accordingly... -- Franklincain (t/c) 17:40, 19 July 2013 (PDT)
Two more, from my crew: "Frabjous" and "Vorpal". -- Franklincain (t/c) 05:46, 20 July 2013 (PDT)
"Burbling","Frabjous","Galumphing","Mimsy","Slithy","Uffish", "Vorpal" my list of Nonsense words and adjectives from Lewis Carrol found on Alice class sloops on the Cerulean Ocean. These were not duplicates they were conformations please stop editing items to satisfy your own ego in a talk page, your time is better spent by taking a deep breath before you press undo or delete. Eight minutes is a joke mate. When I said in another item, when you were asking for trinkets portrait pictures, I believe that I said this is for Frank on the Portrait. Otherjenny
Another one, also from my crew: "Manxome". (Also removed duplicates from above.) -- Franklincain (t/c) 16:04, 20 July 2013 (PDT)
I got the Frumious Clownfish. --Thunderbird 16:05, 20 July 2013 (PDT)
It is not "ego" to emphasize we were tracking -adjectives- (and not complete names). If you care to disagree, please take it to private message via the forums, so as to not pollute the Yppedia. Thank you. -- Franklincain (t/c) 10:18, 21 July 2013 (PDT)
I got the "Chortling Ling" - added the adjective to the list. Jlh0605 11:08, 22 July 2013 (PDT)
Chessboard image
I have a full image of the chessboard scene, but I seem to be unable to upload it. I'm guessing that either the size limit has been set below the 50mb stated on the file upload page, or my somewhat spotty internet connection is dropping just enough to cause a failure each time I try to upload it.
The full-resolution png file is 11mb; I can get it all the way down to 8mb and change at crummy 256 color gif-esque quality. The file would be a suitably small 3 or 4mb in jpg form, but (1) jpgs are horrible, (2) especially when you have as much red in the image as this one does, and (3) the png requirement is baked into the ship templates.
I've tried every trick I know, and I've downloaded multiple png optimization programs to no avail. (So far. The latest program is attempting to crunch the file as I type.) Do we want to make an exception to the general rule of full-resolution, and upload at half-size or something? I suppose that it may be possible for someone with admin powers to bypass the limit, but would we even want to? 11mb is... kinda huge. --Ladodal 03:09, 19 September 2013 (PDT)
- Aaaand, nevermind! I reduced the number of colors from "all of them" to a mere sixty-four thousand, compressed it with a png crunching program, and got it down to only six and a half megabytes. Close enough. --Ladodal 03:38, 19 September 2013 (PDT)
