Social Distancing is a saucy little crew that sails on the Emerald Ocean and is based on Admiral Island. The crew was originally devised by Hellz on February 23, 2020 and founded the flag Good Night.

History
The crew is the brain-child of Hellz, Sonadora and Dwizztwo, who knew each other from previous pirate-y adventures, and was formed after they realized they could tolerate each other just enough to run their own show. Originally, the crew was known as “Bedtime”, presumably to make members feel less guilty about spending hours in front of their computers in their pajamas instead of going to sleep.
The first member to be promoted to Senior Officer outside of the original three was Siclarogue, who maneuvered his way into the title after he landed a lucky streak on the Gunning puzzle and pretended he was consistently really, really good at it. At the time, Social Distancing was struggling to find skillful gunners during pillages and offered Siclarogue the position in exchange for his undying loyalty. After his treachery was discovered and it was revealed he was at best a mediocre gunner, Hellz allowed him to keep his position, partially because he was fun to be around but largely because Hellz was too lazy to follow through with a demotion.
Early on during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, “Bedtime” shed its night time theme and the crew was renamed to “Social Distancing” as a scheme to lure in talented pirates who were coming out of retirement while participating in global quarantine. As of June 2020, Social Distancing remains a top ranked crew with illustrious fame; but don’t worry, they haven’t let it get to their heads.
Bandana Pillages
A signature calling card of Social Distancing is their ocean-renowned Bandana pillages on the War Brig Flexible Spot. During these pillages, jobbers and crew members alike sport matching magenta bandanas in likeness to the black and magenta paint job of the ship itself. All bandanas are provided for free by the Bandanafairy. While participation is optional, those who opt out are severely judged, because the best type of fun is always the fun that is mandatory by way of peer pressure.
High Ranking Officers and Their Roles
As with all successful crews, management and leadership is a team effort. Every high ranking officer has an important role to play within the crew dynamics.
- Hellz spends most of his time explaining ad nauseum that he didn’t actually retire, and no, he’s definitely still Captain, so please stop listening to Bonze. Other than that, no one really knows. Probably poker or something.
- Andrewluck is enjoying his retirement from the NFL by sailing obsessively in cades in hopes that someone will pay attention to him again.
- Bonze can be found running crew pillies from Admiral island straight to his therapist’s office to cope with the PTSD inflicted by fellow crewbies. Hellz was hoping that a royalty position would have him back off his attempted mutiny, but was disappointed to find out Bonze still wants it all.

- If Dwizztwo isn’t creeping fellow crew members YPPedia pages, he’s battling on the high seas with his signature moves, the “Charging Bull” and the “Sweeping Crane”, names one can only imagine he came up with himself after one too many bottles of rum.
- Farhans probably just sunk all the flag’s ships in a blockade, only to perform mysterious wench-like activities on his OnlyHans account to then pay for all the flag’s ships he just sunk in a blockade.
- Jericheau can always be found trying to run an elite pillage, only to subsequently D/C and curse his poor internet connection once he finally gets it loaded.
- Kaytwo is just being super nice. Seriously, she’s like nicer than Sona. We can’t even say anything mean about her.
- Siclarogue is rounding everyone up on the flag discord he runs. It’s not necessarily to benefit the crew, but to show off all of his computer science-y skills to anyone who cares.
- Sonadora spends her time luring in new recruits with the false promise of cake while silently cursing Hellz as she does all the work. While her mental breakdown is likely imminent, for now, she’s also known as the nice one.
Promotion Requirements
We’ve typed them all out for you to ignore and relentlessly ask for the position you want.
- Pirate: Please ask any crew member ranked officer or higher to promote you after you join the crew!
- Officer: Minimum Broad/Proficient in at least 3 piracy skills (ex: Sailing, Rigging, Carpentry, Patching, Bilging, Gunning, Swordfight, Rumble, etc).
- Fleet Officer: This rank can be acquired through hard work and a commitment to the crew. Some examples that can help you reach this position include: leading your own pillages, supporting other crew pillages, logging on/being an active player, conversing with other members in the crew, and much more. Please do not ask for this position.
- Senior Officer: There must be a tremendous level of trust, proven camaraderie with the other SOs and/or Captain, and an established commitment to the crew.
Crew Rules
Because sometimes we’re serious.
- Gunning: Please always ask the officer in charge of the pilly to get permission to gun. If you start gunning without getting an okay from the officer in charge, you may be planked from the vessel or temporarily demoted.
- Permission To Board (PTB): For any ship smaller than a War Brig, please request permission to board the ship via the crew or officer chat. Failing to request permission prior to boarding may lead the officer in charge to plank you from the ship.
- Crew Use Ships: There are unlocked ships available for crew use. If you use one of the unlocked ships, please be sure to restock it to the amount of rum and cannonballs it had prior to using it. The officer bulletin board on the helm may have more specific directions regarding ship restock and use. It is also recommended to port a ship that isn't yours at the same island you found it, unless stated otherwise. Failure to follow these rules may potentially lead to a demotion or expulsion.
- Ship Abandonment: Please do not leave ships abandoned at sea. Use a ship that you own if you believe that you will need to step away from the game or log off before you end your pillage. If you abandon a ship you do not own at sea, you may be demoted.
