Red Flag Fleet was a crew that sailed on the Hunter Ocean. It served as mainly an officer training flag for new/existing players who planned on getting better at pillaging or blockading.

Public Statement

Welcome to Purity of Essence's officer training program, now in Hunter flavor! Please keep all body parts inside the ship and enjoy your stay!

This is a non-profit organization. Red Flag Fleet exists purely for the training of new officers in all areas of the game. Want to learn how to battle navigate? Need some tips on organizing and planning a blockade? Know all the basics, but feel like you need a refresher course? Love sloop navigation, but want to try on something bigger? Once you join the crew, you will chose an area to concentrate on.

  • Pillaging-the puzzling, leadership, and navigation of a ship.
  • Blockading-organization, puzzling, and navigation during blockades.

We might move on to flotillas and sea monster attacks, but this has not been decided.

To hone these skills, we will have brig pillages (a new navver every week) and be participating in one event blockade month. This event blockade will be played out like a normal blockade, jobbing contacts, ship stocking, XOs and navvers included. To help teach you, we have experienced senior officers to help you learn to navigate, organize, and puzzle efficiently. Once you join the crew, we will oversee your training and promote you when we feel you have a grasp on the concepts of what you're seeking to learn. You will be given all the tools you need to pillage and plunder the high seas. We let you use ships (of any size), recommend jobbers, and supply your stock for the first few pillages (after which time you will be expected to stock it yourself). You may concentrate on any difficulty you wish, though we might have some recommendations to make your pillaging time the best it can be.

If you would like to join, please see Fixation, Fixy, Fixypiepi, or any other Senior Officer and we'll be happy to help you. :-)

Disclaimer: We have the right to expel (and complain) anyone at any point in time if we have reason to believe that you have been stealing stock, or lying about who you are.

Crew Articles

  1. Treat others as you would like to be treated. This rule is here first for a reason, please remember it.
  2. Please find and stay on a station. Your work is important to the success of a voyage. Unless they have recently released an update where there are sails in the crow's nest, I don't want to see you there.
  3. Unless you are a commanding officer, please don't yell on the ship. Thank you for wanting to help out, but we've got it covered.
  4. Obey the XO in charge. If you are planked, it's for a reason.

Promotion Requirements

Pillaging Concentration Promotion Requirements

  • Cabin Person: Anyone, really.
  • Pirate: This is your starting rank. Here you will develop and polish your puzzling skills. It's fairly easy to advance out of this rank, just show one of our senior officers that you can puzzle (and that we can trust you!) and have the experience level of Narrow in sails, bilging, and carpentry.
  • Officer: Here you will learn the pillaging basics. How to stock your ship, control your jobbers, and engage other ships will be what you're expected to learn. In order to pass out of this level, you must lead a pillage with a SO on board.
  • Fleet Officer: Here our senior officers will teach you how successfully battle navigate. You may have your choice of who you learn from and who you do not, it is completely your choice. By coming on our weekly pillages, you will learn whose bnav style you like the most, and whose you'd like to duplicate. In order to test out of this level, you must successfully lead a cutter, brig, or frig pillage with two or more senior officers on board. You will then graduate the program.
  • Senior Officer: Reserved for trainers and training navigators.

Blockading Promotion Requirements

  • Cabin Person: Anyone, really.
  • Pirate: This is, again, your starting-out point. To make sure you have basic understanding of the duty puzzles and the importance of sails, carp, and bilging in a blockade. To test out, you must show that you know how to puzzle and have an experience rank of narrow in bilging, carpentry, and sails.
  • Officer: Blockade organization is the main focus of being an officer. We will teach you how to successfully organize a blockade, from stocking ships to being an awesome jobbing contact, this is your place to learn everything you need to know about organization. In order to test out of this level, you must demonstrate your skills by being a jobbing contact, stock transferer, XO, and rover in one of our monthly event blockades.
  • Fleet Officer: This is your level to learn how to blockade navigate. You'll perfect teaming and learning to take orders like a man! In order to graduate and test out of the program, you must preform well in our monthly event blockade and have the nomination of two or more Senior Officers.
  • Senior Officer: Reserved for trainers and training navigators.
