PEAR

From YPPedia

PEAR stands for Piracy Experience & Ability Rating, invented by Ozzimendo. It was first applied in the crew TUGA on the Viridian Ocean in July 2005. The aim of PEAR is to measure player stats more accurately and simply show how good/experienced of a players at the pillage related puzzles in an over-all view. It only counts on the experiences and skills on Sword Fighting, Bilge Pumping, Sailing, Navigating, Battle Navigating, Gunnery, Carpentry, Rumbling and the Navy Rank.

How to use it

PEAR is a simple 'Experience x Standing' calculation, which is repeated for each of the piracy stats. Each experience and standing level has been given a point equivalent, all of which are listed below. The products are then added up to give a number out of a total 727. A higher PEAR value, in theory, means a pirate has more broad experience with piracy puzzles.

Example

This example uses the stats pictured on the right.

Example stats.

Sword Fighting: Solid(2) x Able(0) = 0

Bilge Pumping: Expert(4) x Master(3) = 12

Sailing: Weighty(3) x Able(0) = 0

Navigating: Novice(0) x Able(0) = 0

Battle Navigating: Novice(0) x Able(0) = 0

Gunnery: Novice(0) x Able(0) = 0

Carpentry: Solid(2) x Able(0) = 0

Rumbling: Sublime(7) x Able (0) = 0

Patching: Novice(0) x Able(0) = 0

Navy Rank: Apprentice Sailor(0) = 0

Total PEAR: 0 + 12 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 12, meaning the PEAR is 12 points

PEAR is for reference only.

Standing difference

In the case if the standing level has difference between the whole ocean and archipelago, say the whole ocean is master but the archipelago is respected, mostly will count the higher standing, which is master.
